Was anyone at the show tonight in San Juan Capistrano?

A few dates have been added, including one in Cincinnati! It's apparently been listed for a few weeks, but there's still no option to order tickets. Then he's playing the next night about an hour away. Do I go to both shows? I guess it'll depend on ticket prices, but it is tempting.

They are both family and friends shows. I emailed the venue about when tickets would go on sale and never got a response. Now I see it and the show an hour away have been removed from Al's site. Hopefully they were just prematurely put up there and not a sign that the shows aren't happening.

While I don't know whether I'd see another Storytellers show--I really loved the one I saw, I'm just not sure I'd need to see another--I would love to get to a F&F show. Unfortunately none have been scheduled anywhere near here, at least not yet. (Actually ditto Brian's tour with Chicago, not that I'm a Chicago fan anyway.)

There was a F&F show in Bethesda, MD, about 45 mins from me back in March, but I opted to skip it. The setlist didn't really have anything I'd never seen live before. I might be tempted to do a BW / Chicago show if the tour came to Baltimore. I'm not a huge Chicago fan. But, on a double bill, it might be pretty cool.

I think I'd see a BW/Chicago show just assuming that they'd probably have some interaction between the bands, like using horns on BW stuff or extra singers for Chicago. Plus--even though I've been thinking this for a decade by now--we really are getting to that point where any show could be the last to see him.
But F&F, I'd love to see that just because of the different configuration of the band. I don't care about Wilson Phillips music, but just seeing Ed Carter and Bobby Figueroa, guys I've never had a chance to see before, would be fun.

Had it been a weekend show, I might have been persuaded to go. I wonder if anyone from Brian's band would join Chicago on Wishing You Were Here. It's funny, Chicago actually did headline show in Baltimore last Friday night. Despite following Chicago and the venue on Facebook, I somehow wasn't aware until that afternoon.

From the California Mid-State Fair Facebook page:
CONCERT UPDATE – Due to circumstances related to Covid-19, Al Jardine, Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson will not be appearing at the Al Jardine Family & Friends concert being held tonight, July 29 at 8:00pm on the Frontier Stage.
The concert will, however, go on as scheduled and will feature Al’s son, Matt Jardine. Matt Jardine has toured for many years with both The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson. Matt has received rave reviews from both fans and critics for his stunning lead.

Interesting: Matt gets a shot in the spotlight for an entire evening, rather than just the falsetto-heavy songs. I wonder how he'll do as the emcee/frontman. When I saw the Storytellers tour, he was surprisingly chatty and funny--I suppose "surprisingly" isn't fair, because while I hadn't seen him talk at a Brian show, pretty much nobody talks at a Brian show--so maybe he's got it in him.

This could be a glimpse into the not too distant future of live BB related shows.
