Kapitan: Ringo's Goodnight Vienna is up for discussion. Note, it expires Wednesday (barring objections), so be sure to weigh in by then if you're going to do so. (And we hope you do.)

Kapitan: Beatles train, chugging along: George's Dark Horse is now posted for discussion.

carllove: Good Morning Kapitan! Haha! I thought I was a little slow this morning …..

Kapitan: To be fair, I've been AWAKE...just not productive. (Well I did grocery shop already.)

kds: Happy Monday All. I hope our bashing of the year of 1999 hasn't discouraged anyone from posting.

carllove: We were just speaking the truth. It was a dreadful year for rock music.

kds: Maybe it's a coincidence, but before I saw the posts about 1999, I saw an article about the anniversary of the disaster that was Woodstock 1999.

sockit: I find the contrast of other folks' outlooks on '99 to my own rather interesting. Maybe it's personal. I was in a good place in my life at the time, making my exit from a bit of a low point. The music at the time was very positive for me.

Kapitan: Personally I love the different viewpoints. Not to sound corny, but I know what I think, so I don't need to read that from everyone else. Sure, the shared opinions mean occasional reinforcements that feel good. But variety is best.

Kapitan: In this case it's funny bc kds and I agree about that 1999 low point, but share maybe 1% of our 2000s preferences. Almost nothing in common musically post 2000. That's interesting to me.

sockit: I enjoy the different viewpoints too and I will certainly never be insulted if someone disagrees with something I've posted. Once in awhile I even learn something.

carllove: I find it fascinating the varieties of music that Beach Boys fans enjoy outside of that band’s music. It’s not always what you would expect. That makes these posts and discussions that much more fun. It would be boring if we all shared the same opinions.

kds: Good Morning, sockit. I'm glad to hear you feel that way. In all honesty, I wish I would tie in good years of my lifetime with music of the time that I experienced in real time. But, for the most part, it's a rarity for me.

sockit: And a good day to you, kds! And everyone else here. Music has been an important part of my life since I can remember. Songs from particular years have special meaning for me, especially when I was in a good place.

Kapitan: I associate specific music to most memories or experiences as well--good and bad, really. (Both good and bad memories, and good and bad music!)

Kapitan: John Lennon's Rock 'n' Roll is up for discussion.

kds: I agree, certain songs can take me back to a specific time, that's part of the magic of music. However, for the most part, its rarely music released in that year. Like, 2012 was one of best years of my life. And I most associate The Beach Boys..
