I don't know, the band sounds great as always. And Brian sounds no worse than usual. Maybe even a bit better. (Which is still a serious decline from his best solo shows, but not as bad as it could be and has been.)

Oh, it'd be a hoot. But I'd bet there is a better chance Brian doesn't remember the existence of that song than that he's considering adding it to the set list.
Myself, I HATED the song for years. But maybe five or six years ago, I had to recognize the track itself is good. I don't like the siren, and I think the lyrics are really clunky, so I can't say I like the song overall. But it's not 100% awful, which was how I thought of it for my first decade or so of fandom.
(I'd still remove it from the Surf's Up album, personally.)
Saw a local band do the original song - Riot in Cell Block #9 - recently. But me, being a BB fan, had the ML lyrics in my head.

The lyrics are awful, but the band kicks serious ass on SDT.

I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid. I find this very disturbing.

Honestly I don't think it's worse than the past few years of Pet Sounds tours, and in fact is a little better than some I've heard. I mean, it's objectively bad. But I don't find it disturbing, especially, at least in comparison to the past couple years' worth of shows.

Here's a great rendition of Busy Doin Nothin. Well, almost great, one small flaw (in the lead vocals in the verses).

He looks miserable there; doesn't sound much better, either. I get that many love the band, and yes, they are spot-on, but I still thinks it's awful how they trot Brian out for these shows, when it's clear he should be at home, resting, taking a nap, like most folks his age do. And yet that makes me "anti-Brian"..."you don't love him, you don't want him touring, singing the music he created"..well, no, not when he looks and sounds like that.

The close up of Brian's face during GOK doesn't paint a happy picture.

The close up of Brian's face during GOK doesn't paint a happy picture. And THAT'S what's bothering me. You don't need to be a doctor to see that this man is struggling mightily. Never mind the vocals. It is painful to watch. I have to turn it off. Oh, I know, he has to be cleared by his team of doctors, but that doesn't make it right to be putting him on a stage, forcing him to "perform", putting unecessary pressure on him. Not at his age and with his history. Go ahead and rip me. I don't care. No matter how hard I try to rationalize this, I just think there has to be a better alternative, an alternative to being put on display, for what? He deserves better than this, and I just wish somebody with some pull would step forward and put an end to it. If it was any other artist - Chuck Berry, Johnny Winter, Johnny Cash - people would be singing another tune.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle of "Brian likes touring" and "Brian's being forced onstage."
I'm not going to pretend I know how Brian feels physically or mentally, but its becoming a not great look when you're charging people hard earned money to watch a legend look so uninterested in the music he created.

Question: are we the only ones who can see what is going on? Yes, I still look at that other forum. Must be some really strong Kool-Aid they are drinking.

Question: are we the only ones who can see what is going on? Yes, I still look at that other forum. Must be some really strong Kool-Aid they are drinking. Sometimes blind hero worship makes you see what you want to see. Some fans blindly think everything Brian does is great, and any criticism is a personal attack. I remember I used to feel that way when anybody would criticize my favorite baseball player. Then, I turned 12.

Question: are we the only ones who can see what is going on? Nah, we’re nothing special. People are just coming to it from different places, I think. Yes, there are a few—very few—who honestly seem to think Brian Wilson sounds objectively good. There are also flat-earthers, neo-Nazis, etc. What a world… But the vast majority seem to be more of these kinds of perspectives: - “He sounds great [for someone his age]” - “He sounds great [compared to this other time I saw him when he was worse]” - “He sounds great [considering all he’s been through]” - “It’s just great that he’s still alive and working” - “It’s great seeing Al and Blondie on stage with him” - “It’s great seeing him surrounded by people who care about him” In other words, they know perfectly well that if he auditioned for his own band and his name were Bryan Wilshire, he’d be politely and hastily shown the door. It isn’t a musical thing for them, but an emotional one. And as some people here demonstrate, different people can have a different emotional reaction to the same thing. For a few of you, it’s disturbing to see Brian looking uninterested and singing badly; for them, it’s heroic and inspirational.

I'm somewhat in the middle. For one, Brian's not the only artist on tour whose performances are iffy. Plus, the easy solution is to just not go to the concerts. But, from a fiscal standpoint, I find it a little.....probably not disturbing, but maybe a little unethical to charge more for tickets as Brian's performances have declined.
