I could be wrong, but I don’t think Paul is the kind of guy to make guest appearances.

Is it weird that we still don't know where this will be available to be streamed? I'd imagine the theater release will be pretty limited as well. The song didn't sound bad, although I heard some shouty Brian and it has those Brian's back (again) type lyrics that have been trotted out for numerous songs now. And yes, it seems odd that Paul McCartney isn't in this. With all of that said, I'm still really looking forward to it!

I would love to stream it and would be willing to purchase it, but what the heck? Why not capitalize on the excitement of the Feel Flows release? Now it’s like it’s already passed. Are they waiting for the 60th Anniversary celebration? Why make the fans wait so long?

Well if we get impatient we could just get in the car and drive all around and recreate the movie saying things out loud to ourselves that we think Brian might say. But if you start at the Paradise Cove Cafe I caution you that their famous bloody mary is $24.

Finally watched the new trailer - loved it! Tastefully done. And I’m very pleasantly surprised by the new song. I’m really looking forward to it now. The falsetto at the end has a very similar melody to “to be cool with the water is the message of this song.” And in a good way! I like it. I only listened with my phone speakers but that falsetto is very good and Brian-esque.
Also, I’m really getting the feeling that this doc could be quite insightful (if not revelatory) regarding Brian’s psyche and condition. Perhaps even in a definitive way (to use the word of the director in a recent interview IIRC), no doubt aided by the intimacy of the setting(s). I often get the sense that, intellectually (or on a more surface level), fans understand/acknowledge Brian’s mental issues but at the same time don’t really understand/acknowledge it on a deeper level. Instead maintaining a more romantic view of him (as you’d expect a fan would). But I think a huge part of that is simply not seeing it (outside of interviews or live performances) but also not really being able to relate. What I’m trying to say is, in a way, I think the doc might succeed in showing us the “real” Brian. Other documentaries might feel grander, but also more of other people’s making. And, in those, when Brian seems uncomfortable in front of the lights and cameras for his interview, we can just chalk it up to that sort of anxiety. But, here, we get Brian in as comfortable a setting as possible (and in multiple settings): driving around, walking around, listening to his favorite music, going to the studio...over a fairly long period of time, too. And this is NOT scripted (nor could it come off that way). Short of spending days on end with him ourselves, this could be the closest and truest view we ever get.

How do we still not know where this can be streamed at?? And an extremely limited theatrical release. That tells me there was barely any interest in this or Brian team dropped the ball somehow. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope I'm wrong. I feel like the ball has been dropped a bit here. I felt the same way when Love and Mercy got such a limited release.

Those on the BW website email list probably have seen this, but here is a list of theaters that will show preview screenings of the doc starting Nov. 17. More than 100 theaters, so if you're near a major city, you can probably find one.
The email also says "“Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road” will be available for in theaters and streaming on November 19." So even if you don't want to, or can't get to, a theater, you can apparently start streaming 11 days from now ... somewhere.

So based on this info, is anyone planning to go see LPR in a theater on (or after) Nov 17? Or are most people just going to stream it?
Personally I am pretty sure I'm going to stream it.

One of my Beach Boys' buddies told me he'd like to see it in a theater and asked me if I was interested in tagging along. So, I'll probably see it in a movie theater.

The closest showing to be is in DC, and it's on a Wednesday. So, double no on that one, I'll wait to see how to stream it.

Pretty Funky at SSMB found this: www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/Brian-Wilson-Long-Promised-Road/1947838I had thought that this is what they meant by streaming - that it would be available to rent and/or purchase on sites like Vudu and Amazon. I think if it were being released on Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+ or something then that would have been announced. Edit: If the link doesn't go directly to the film, just type the name in the search bar. Anyway, it says "expected" on Nov. 19 and available for preorder for $14.99.

I forgot to post, but I did finally watch the trailer over the weekend. And, I'll say I'm more optimistic about the doc than I originally was.
