Do we have a release date for the upcoming Wilson documentary? I know it’s scheduled for this year, and I know there’s a poster out there.

The only thing I've seen is that a poster went up on IMDB. No release date, nor where it's gonna release.
I was kind of taken aback by the title and all the "special guest" talking heads it was putting forth on the poster. I guess I was hoping it was going to be more loose and playful (how it seemed in the early descriptions) not an odd collection of celebrities giving their take. That's filler to me.
ESQ supposedly is going to have more details published in their next issue, any idea when that is due?

I guess my hopes were always lower since I believe Nick Jonaswas mentioned in the first story about it that I saw. Plus these always seem to end up largely fluff PR mixed with interesting facts. So it comes down to the balance.
We’ll see. I am curious anyway.
Also wondering where it’ll run. I’m hoping it’s straight to Netflix or Hulu, etc

Executive Producer: Melinda Wilson (says on IMBd Melinda Ledbetter) Co-Producer: Jean Sievers
Those credits got my attention. Anybody know who Gustavo Dudamel is?

Apparently Brian recorded Long Promised Road for this.

That will be interesting. A little verbose for Brian, but its slow delivery might make it work for him.
In the original, it’s the background vocals I like most. I’m curious to hear how, if at all, the arrangement is changed.
Of course I’m also curious whether there’s a soundtrack with any other new or previously unreleased stuff. (Ahem, “bedroom tapes era”)

There is that one backstage video of Brian noodling out "Long Promised Road" for about 4 seconds. Who's the source for this info by the way? I couldn't figure it out.

It's still very odd to me that this is named for a Carl song.

Maybe it won’t seem odd once you’ve seen it. For example, maybe he’ll have some anecdote about how he always loved the song and now he looks back at his life and where he’s come to in life and so it has some special resonance blah blah.
Or maybe it’ll be Odd Beach Boy Choice #73,922.

Or maybe it’ll be Odd Beach Boy Choice #73,922. I've seen mention elsewhere that he started playing it absent-mindedly when Darius and another (forget who) were in the room, and they kind of looked at each other before joining in with the 'ba ba ba baaaa' on the verse. So clearly it's stayed with him. As Carl songs go it's a fantastic one and worth remembering him by.

Yep, I recall that in one of the docs. I forget which. (It's really just a few seconds' worth if I recall correctly.)
Still waiting on a release date, aren't we? As the great Inigo Montoya said while waiting for Westley to climb the cliff, "I hate waiting."

So...2019 is nearly over. Have we had updates on this that I’ve missed (or forgotten)?

Only "update" is that Blondie mentioned it is coming out when they came to Cincinnati back in September.

Which will we see first, Long Promised Road or the Rock and Roll Album?
