I was thinking about stretching The Doors to a Top 50, but with only six albums (sorry, Sheriff, but despite my best efforts, I cannot get into those two post Jim albums), I'll probably stick to 25. I can't recall seeing any tracks from these albums (or the poetry one) in anyone's list. Or have I missed something? No. Personally, I'd file those two albums under "for completists only."

If you took the best songs from both Other Voices and Full Circle, you would have an outstanding album. The magic - at least musically - was still there. I compiled such an album, making one of those Spotify playlists, and I'm threatening to post it in The Doors thread (if I can figure out how to do it ).

I don't think I'd go so far to say "outstanding." Pretty good, maybe. But to each their own. Maybe include a couple tracks from American Prayer to beef it up a little.

- Take It As It Comes - #2 - Interesting. Sure you didn't mean Break On Through? - Who Scared You - #4 - Yes! And to think it was only a B-side. - The Spy - #6 - Love Jim's vocal but i always found the song slightly - just slightly - boring. - Queen Of The Highway - #12 - Morrison Hotel fan, huh? - Light My Fire - #13 - Oooh... - L.A. Woman - #18 - only #18; I'm stunned at how low this song has been ranking on these lists. - Runnin' Blue - #20 - The song does get going and Jim sings great. Don't know if I could go to #20, though.
- Indian Summer - #25 - Good choice. Song deserves more recognition. - Who Do You Love - Honorable Mention - I included it on my list, and quite high actually. Robby rocks!

Yes, Take it as it Comes is one of my favorite and most spun Doors tunes. Much of it has to do with that slap bass. I also really dig the powerful ending with the distorted guitar and trilling organ. Break on Through is one of those tunes I have gotten a bit burned out on over the years (notice I placed the hits pretty far down my list). Who Scared You is sheer genius. I love that time signature. The Spy is probably one of the most "authentic" sounding blues tunes by the Doors (IMO). And yes, Morrison Hotel is my favorite Doors album. No skip tracks for me on that one. Indian Summer took awhile to grow on me. At first I found it boring, but I think some of that was because of the company that track was among on MH. Had it been released on the debut album, I think it would have fared better. It would've made more sense to me, at least.

A couple Doors' comments before we move on to the next lists. Some of my comments were posted above. The lists submitted by our members opened my eyes to some songs that I didn't give enough credit or recognition to.
- "People Are Strange" didn't make my Top 25, yet others had it at No. 1. I knew it was a hit and I knew it made almost every Doors' compilation album, but it's never been a favorite. I guess I let my favoritism influence my ranking. I think there are a half dozen superior songs on Strange Days. I appreciate the lyrics/concept of the song, but I didn't think the music arrangements took the song where I thought it should go. I will re-evaluate it.
- I think "L.A. Woman" is exceptional. In one song - albeit 7:45 - it encompasses everything that is great about The Doors, and I mean everything. Each Door shines. It's one of the few Doors' songs that wasn't a single that gets consistent FM radio airplay. I ranked it at #2; most ranked it considerably lower.
- I'm not a fan of "Hello, I Love Me" and omitted it from my list. I think the song had more potential, and curiously, I thought Ray and Robby's contributions were lacking. They both played different-sounding instruments from their typical sound, and I found it, I don't want to say boring, but unexciting. I felt the song wanted to rock more. I find it lightweight instead.
- "Been Down So Long" came in much higher than expected, but happily so. It's songs like "Been Down So Long" (there's a few others, non-hits) which contribute to the greatness of L.A. Woman. I think it's long overdue that L.A. Woman be recognized higher in album polls - I'm talking Top 10.
- I thought "Light My Fire" and "The Crystal Ship" would come in higher, just slightly higher. I consider them and "Break On Through" as The Big 3 on The Doors, and that album is frequently cited as the group's best.
- I was surprised to see "Back Door Man" appear...at all; not in the Top 25 Best Doors' Songs.
- I did see "Hyacinth House" mentioned a few times. If I had to reconsider one song, I think it would be "Hyacinth House". It's so cool.
- Surprisingly, "Spanish Caravan" made a few appearances. It was performed live by The Doors, and it does showcase Robby's flamenco skills.
Thank you, everyone, for your Doors' lists.

OK, so it's not in your personal Top 25. That makes more sense.

OK, so it's not in your personal Top 25. That makes more sense. No, kds, I WAS referring to my personal Top 25. I apologize. I have been having problems wording things clearly lately, or the way I want them to come out. In my opinion, with "Back Door Man", I was surprised to see it appear on the lists in this thread - and would be surprised to see it on other Top 25 Doors' lists for that matter (though I have!). I felt The Doors didn't nail "Back Door Man" on the first album, and performed it much better in concert. Actually, I'll bet the band played "Back Door Man" at almost every concert they ever did with Jim Morrison.

A Big Question - As we are evidently moving soon into the Beatles top 100. Do we rate the individual “songs” in The Abbey Road Medley - or do we do what Rolling Stone did in their top 100 - and rate them all together? That’s a hard call. I’m good either way. It’s just so sublime as a whole. Preferences or do we just decide on our own? I’m kinda thinking medley as a whole as my preference.

I'm toying with the idea of not including it at all (mainly because it'll be awkward to rank either way and I need the space).

Break On Through To The Other Side 9. Hello, I Love You 10. Twentieth Century Fox 11. L.A. Woman 12. Love Me Two Times 13. Back Door Man 14. Strange Days 15. Light My Fire OK, carllove, per your suggestion in the Shoutbox, sure, I'd love to comment on your list!
- The End - #1 - The surprises continue! While I do think The End is essential Doors' listening (I had it at #16 on my list), I didn't expect to see it as THE MOST essential. - Touch Me - #2 - It might be Jim's most complete vocal - rock, pop, jazz, crooning...
- Not To Touch The Earth -#4 - Yes, I love it. Wish they would've finished The Celebration Of The Lizard on Waiting For The Sun. - Twentieth Century Fox - #10 - Another song I like a lot but I don't know if I could go Top 10 with it. Side Note: I saw Robby perform it live a few years ago and he rocked it. - Back Door Man - #13 - Is there a conspiracy to drive me crazy? - Light My Fire - #15 - I put it at #1. I think Light My Fire has been represented on every list (it better be!), but I thought it would have a higher showing across the board. Are people sick of it? - Not a fan of Morrison Hotel, huh?
Thank you for participating. Let it roll...all night long!
