The reason why I pre-ordered from Amazon is that their prices tend to go down somewhat before a release, and they will give you the lower price when it ships. Not as much difference as a "clearance" post-release sale, but still less.

I pre-ordered, too. If the price goes down, great. I do hope that Dec. 2 estimate is wrong, though. (Once I pre-ordered, it said they'd email once a firmer date became known.)

I have not. But, I hope that $149.99 price is also incorrect, along with the street date. Well, it seems that price was incorrect: it now says $162.02!
Release date is still Dec. 2, not the advertised Nov. 18.

Thanks for posting, Sheriff. I'm glad to hear this in better quality than the boots I've heard, though I have to admit I'm still not really a big fan of the song. Might be a grower, though. Stranger things have happened.

Celebrating The Beach Boys' Sail On Sailor - 1972 - A Conversation With Mike Love Of The Beach Boys Plus Special Guests

Cool. And interesting that it's only Mike and special guests. (Not surprising that it's not full band: as we've speculated before, I'm thinking we won't see a lot from Brian out there pushing this.) I'd have thought maybe Al, at least would also be out there, as he was relatively active as a songwriter in this period.
Re the special guests: I'd guess Ricky and/or Blondie as obvious choices ... but they didn't ever get along with Mike, did they? Obviously a punch and a racial slur linger in my memory, and probably theirs. Though I'd assume promotional opportunities would be a salve of sorts.
I should note, it's a bummer to see that December release date listed as the official one. I know Amazon has been saying that for a while, but I was hoping it was an error, and the real one was the previously announced November date. So we're still just over a month out.

It would be nice to see Al Jardine and Mike Love share some time/an event together. And, I think Al would enjoy something like this. Can you imagine some of the things he'd say!
However, my prediction for special guests is Mark Linett and Alan Boyd.

Damn I love Dennis’ songs. This is beautiful. Apple Music followed it by Jack Rieley’s “Western Justice”. Nice song too. I’d never heard it.

I'm a HUGE fan of "Carry Me Home". This is the definitive version, no question. I do hear some rattling/distortion (particularly in the right channel at the start of the song) but overall the sound quality is infinitely better than the bootlegs.
Another thing - this sounds complete. It sounds like it would have been right at home on Holland (albeit with a vintage mix).

Any chance someone with an account to RS can post the text of that article/interview with Blondie? (Maybe someday I am going to have to cave in and get one...but damnit, I'm sick of having so many different accounts for everything!)

Thanks. I was hoping it was a nice, long interview. Oh well, a few words are still a few more than Blondie is usually given! I hope we hear from him and Ricky a lot during this promotional campaign.
