It's very rare for me to invest in those big boxes. I just don't have that much time for listening anymore. After an hour or so, my tinnitus really starts bothering me - and if I listen to the music at a very low volume, I miss too many of the details. So a two cd set is perfect for me. I just pulled out Sunshine Tomorrow a few nights ago, first time in probably three years. Loved it. The best stuff is on the fifth disc of Feel Flows. I think the price has dropped lately as well. Still - I’m not really sure I’m going to pre purchase SOS like I did Feel Flows. It’s going to be on Apple Music - so I can give it a listen there. I’d frankly prefer to get a hard copy of Sunshine Tomorrow. I have listened to it enough on Apple Music to know I want my own copy in case I ever cancel Apple Music. I do have Sunshine Dream on vinyl. Love it! Sunshine Tomorrow is a must own in physical media. It's a gift that keeps on giving. So what is on disc 5 of Feel Flows?

A whole lot of wonderful stuff from Dennis 💕, the alternate ending (and vocals) version of “This Whole World”, Brian’s Beautiful “Where is She”, “Soulful Old Man Sunshine”, and a super fun listen of alternate lyrics to “Add Some Music to Your Day” and “Don’t Go Near the Water”. It’s chock full of goodies. I love the disc so much, it’s my current Facebook profile picture.

I just looked at the bonus tracks list for the two cd set - and it looks like a lot of the stuff I mentioned is on the bonus tracks of those CD’s. At least they didn’t just put all the good stuff on the 5 CD set!

Just a couple of comments and questions on the Sail On, Sailor set (not intended to be negative):
- Does Brian Wilson have a lead vocal on the set?
- It's hard to find two combined albums with fewer songs. Carl & The Passions has only eight and Holland has ten including "Mount Vernon And Fairway" which I'll count as one song (albeit a long one ).
- We're still a month and a half away from the release, but I'm not seeing much enthusiasm or, well, anything emanating from the surviving Beach Boys, BRI, or Iconic. I guess it's still early...
- I hope the songs aren't remixed like some of the remixes on the recent Sounds Of Summer set.
- Is it Sail On Sailor or Sail On, Sailor?

I got the two disc version. I've listened to the five disc version on Spotify a few times, and didn't think it warranted the price to get a physical copy. Loved it. This is probably where Spotify has changed my habits the most. But, I'm definitely getting the full Sail On Sailor box even if just for the full Carnegie Hall show.

- Is it Sail on Sailor or Sail On, Sailor? Apple Music mentions the remixes and year of the mix on each song on both the “deluxe” and “super deluxe” sets, and it looks like while there will be newer mixes available for several of the songs, other than MVF, the original mixes are all offered. Also, there is a comma on the track list for the song Sail On, Sailor - but not on the box set title. I never noticed that before. Good catch, Sheriff.

Yeah, as was said would be the case a while back, these aren't full remixes, just remasters. Any new mixes are add'l tracks, of which there are just a few. (The track list pasted above shows which ones.) I actually wish they'd remix ALL of them. Not necessarily instead of, but along with the originals.
Sheriff, looking at the cover art, it looks like it is indeed Sail On Sailor. No comma. Bad grammar, but oh well.
Brian may have leads on some of the previously unreleased tracks. We'll find out.

Speaking of the promotion for the album, I wonder whether or how much Brian Wilson will be involved. We haven't ever really heard or seen a lot from or about him since he canceled the end of his tour a few months ago. He looked good in the pic with David Leaf (that I think carllove shared?), so hopefully he's well.
But these are albums he was less involved in than any previous ones, too, and may feel less like talking about. Does he really want to relive being almost absent from CATP? Or recounting how he repeatedly missed the flights overseas? Or lying on the floor listening to Randy Newman in Holland? Reportedly begging VDP to hypnotize him so he could write what became the title track of this set? (Speaking of, I have wondered whether we're going to hear that on the previously unreleased "Sail On, Sailor (Songwriting Session)" track?!?)
Or will it be mostly Mike, Al, and (Hopefully! Let's show some respect!) Blondie and Ricky doing press?

I have a feeling that we'll hear more from Mike and Al, since they're actually on the road and doing interviews fairly regularly.
Like you said, we've barely heard a peep from Brian, or Team Brian, since the remainder of his 2022 shows were cancelled, so I doubt we'll hear much from him.

Has anyone pre-ordered this yet? I am going to spring for the 6-disc set, but as I look on Amazon, they show the release date as Dec. 2. Hadn't it been announced previously as Nov. 18? Just wondering others' experience on this.

I have not. But, I hope that $149.99 price is also incorrect, along with the street date.

What, you don't think $25 per CD is a good value? Or maybe they're $15 apiece, but that 48-page book is worth another $60...? (Pretty steep.)

Feel Flows is $70.98, and MiC was originally $149.99. So, that tells me that sixth CD is a doozy.

Maybe Howie's liner notes are a true masterpiece this time around.

Must be.
IF the asking price is $149.99, I might have to consult the Man With All the Toys.
