Not relevant to the content of the video--which I do plan to watch and comment on more fully--but I can't get used to the modern, internet style of editing he uses, those quick edits, even within (what end up as) single sentences.
That said, when we've done videos for work, some of the older salespeople and exec types freak out at any discernible edits, even in casual videos. It's hard to explain that this is now normal...

Whoa, that first song selection surprised me! Loved his enthusiasm, too. With a million subscribers, I suspect he just converted quite a few new fans!

Just watched that video joshilynhoisington posted. (It has over 60k views in two days, btw, and as B.E. noted, that channel has over a million subscribers. So it's going to get some much-deserved publicity for the group.)
My reaction is, that was me about 23-25 years ago! That was me! (Actually even some of the songs specifically.) I had grown up knowing the hits, having had my parents' copy of Endless Summer in the house, having known David Lee Roth's "California Girls," but really mostly associating the Beach Boys with Sunkist commercials and "Kokomo." Fast forward to the 90s, I'm a huge snob as I'm studying jazz and theory in college, and all of a sudden I'm seeing that Pet Sounds (which I've literally never heard of, though I end up knowing a few of the songs when I listen) is one of the greatest albums of all time. I'm into the Beatles, I'm into Zappa, I'm into jazz giants, and I'm thinking no band that did "Surfin USA" could possibly be all that interesting...
And I get into Pet Sounds and find out I've been missing A LOT. Then I hear about Smile and hear some of that stuff and confirm I've been missing A LOT.
His enthusiasm and excitement, I relate to that so directly. It was me in 1997, 98, 99. An entire world of music suddenly was visible, and it had been there all along!? Remarkable. Some of the best feelings a person can have, in my opinion. To this day I love finding out about some great musician and digging in.

Several years old, but I hadn't seen it before. I thought maybe some of you would enjoy it: a slideshow set to "Surf's Up" (with lyrics).

A recently (less than two weeks ago) posted BBs show from Florida in spring 1975. The setlist belies the common belief that after Endless Summer, it was all (or mostly) surf-and-car oldies. Two from Holland, two from CATP, "Feel Flows," and "I'm Waiting For the Day," "Heroes and Villains" ... that's just under 1/3 of the setlist of newer or less-known tracks.

Carl tackles "The Warmth Of The Sun" at 27:40.

Well it seems the guy at the YouTube channel Wings of Pegasus certainly likes the Beach Boys, as shown in this 20-minute review of (studio) "Don't Worry Baby" and (live) "I Get Around," both focused on Brian, although not exclusively.

I recommend the video posted above. Enjoyable and informative. I appreciate technical analysis of Brian as a singer. I tend to think that fans sort of take it for granted, but it could be that in many cases it's just difficult to express without the level of musical knowledge displayed in the video.

I enjoyed it, too. And of course, being the guy who is usually arguing Brian was the best singer in the group right through the 60s, I enjoyed the praise he was doling out (and demonstrating).

Another good video from Wings of Pegasus. This time focusing on Carl and "I Can Hear Music".

I posted this a couple of years ago but I'm resurrecting it! I saw this American Bandstand show on the day it aired back in 1978. It was and still remains one of the most enjoyable "TV highlights" of my fandom. Check out when Mike introduced the band at 3:14. I think Dave "Doc" Robinson is the only one who has since passed away, and a few of them are still performing in various BB configurations. We recently saw Ron Altbach on Beach Boys Talk. Brian looked uncomfortable but his speaking voice was very clear. Ah, those were the days...
