Don't change anything - just add. Put out Endless Summer on vinyl, cd, but add the "alternate" versions. Good Vibrations doesn't belong there - the original album only featured tracks from 1962-1965. 1966 and onwards was owned by Warner/Reprise/Brother at that point. Save GV for an anniversary release of Good Vibrations - Best of the Beach Boys in 2025, along with Spirit of America. Capitol could - could - put out some expanded, 50th Anniversary, colored vinyl edition of Endless Summer for collectors, completists, and/or newbies with money to spend. They could keep the existing Endless Summer album (2 records/4 sides) and add a third record (6 sides total). They could also market a single, expanded CD version, too. With some strategy and creativity, they could stick with the pre-1966 material (except for "Good Vibrations"), bypass Pet Sounds again, and stay away from the Spirit Of America songs just in case they want to do something with that album. How about something like this:
The Beach Boys - Endless Summer (Expanded 50th Anniversary Edition)
Side 1 1. Surfin' Safari 2. Surfer Girl 3. Catch A Wave 4. The Warmth Of The Sun 5. Surfin' U.S.A.
Side 2 1. Be True To Your School 2. Little Deuce Coupe 3. In My Room 4. Shut Down 5. Fun, Fun, Fun
Side 3 1. I Get Around 2. Girls On The Beach 3. Wendy 4. Let Him Run Wild 5. Don't Worry Baby
Side 4 1. California Girls 2. Girl Don't Tell Me 3. Help Me Ronda 4. You're So Good To Me 5. All Summer Long
Side 5 1. Good Vibrations 2. Devoted To You
3. Car Crazy Cutie
4. In The Parking Lot 5. Your Summer Dream
Side 6 1. Surfer's Rule 2. Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow (Beach Boys' Party version)
3. Lonely Sea 4. Keep An Eye On Summer 5. Surfin'
I still say Good Vibrations doesn't belong there. Endless Summer was supposed to be just hits and summer themed songs from 1962-1965. Once you step into 1966, you're in the "artsy" BB's period, and that was covered reasonably well on Brother/Reprise's 1975 album. Good Vibrations - Best of the Beach Boys. One glaring omission from that single disc comp was I Can Hear Music.

You mentioned that Endless Summer was supposed to be just hits and summer themed songs. Well, I think "Good Vibrations" fits both of those descriptions. Regarding "Good Vibrations" being too artsy, while it was released in 1966 (and how many general music fans even knew that), was it any more/significantly more artsy than "Let Him Run Wild" or even "California Girls"? And, lyrically, it's a nice compliment to "Surfer Girl", "Girls On The Beach", and again "California Girls".

The Beach Boys / Mike & Bruce have announced their 2024 Tour will be Endless Summer Gold. So this means they are going to play every song on Endless Summer? There's a few there that don't get played live often. I don't know that I've ever heard a live version of Girl Don't Tell Me or Girls on the Beach. And next year, can we expect a Spirit of America tour?

I imagine, just as recent M&B tours with SDSN, Pet Sounds, Wild Honey, Xmas Album, etc themes, the album will mostly be a theme for advertising and merch.

The Beach Boys / Mike & Bruce have announced their 2024 Tour will be Endless Summer Gold. And, I see they're coming again to The American Music Theatre in Lancaster, PA on June 29th (for two shows). I saw the band there last year, and there's a very good chance we'll get the gang back together and do it again this year. When it's ice cream weather get the gang back together...they're just trying to keep the summer alive...

Anyone have a Spotify presale code I can use for the Kansas City date? I wasn’t going to go see the Boys this year with the new lineup - but I’d really like to see “Let Him Run Wild”, “Girl Don’t Tell Me”, “You’re So Good To Me” and “All Summer Long”, played live.

As KDS said, their previous album tie-ins did not mean they'd play the full albums, but just that they'd play some songs from them. And they already play quite a few songs from Endless Summer, so it wouldn't require any set list adjustments, if they didn't want to make them. Unless they specify that they're playing the whole album (or set lists begin popping up showing them doing that), I wouldn't expect it. I'd bet you're more likely to hear "Pisces Brothers" and "Rockaway Beach" than "Let Him Run Wild" or "Girl Don't Tell Me." Setlist.fm--admittedly not complete, but not useless, either--says they haven't played GTTM since 1966. It does say they played LHRW in 2015-17, though, as well as occasionally prior to that. This tour isn't hitting the Twin Cities area. The two Minnesota stops are to smaller, outstate cities. Honestly I doubt I'd go anyway.

I think I wanted it so much to be true, that I didn’t realize Andrew was joking on the EH board 🤷♀️

I went to a show in Atlanta in the mid-teens where they played "Let Him Run Wild." I literally dropped my jaw in wide-eyed amazement, which Scott Totten noticed and then dedicated the song to me when they finished.

(If so, I would guess him.) Jeff took more middle-range when he joined, didn't he?

The Beach Boys / Mike & Bruce have announced their 2024 Tour will be Endless Summer Gold. And next year, can we expect a Spirit of America tour? I wouldn't be surprised. And then the following year (2026) the next box set ( Brian Is Back) will be out.

Then they better start chain smoking and get their voices all ragged to do justice to 15 Big Ones material. Maybe even bring Al back to sing TM Song. And if Al isn't available, just have Al do it.

Kapitan, Scott sang lead on LHRW in Atlanta. Jeff sang backing vox. I guess Ike would handle the lead nowadays.
