Sorry, a little late, but six voters chimed in for Youngblood Best Rockin All Over the World - 2Of the Times - 2 Time - 1 What You Do Me Worst Young Blood - 3 What More Can I Say - 1 What You Do To Me - 1 If I Could Talk to Love - 1 Kapitan and Emdeeh both voted for "Rockin' All Over The World". B.E. also recognized it as being one of his favorites on Youngblood. I think I underrated the song, or more specifically, Carl's version. The other day I heard John Fogerty's original 1975 version and came away, shall I say unimpressed. Underwhelmed. It kind of grated on me. Then I listened to Carl's version again. Carl's version is superior and after revisiting it, well, it's a damn good record. Of course Carl's lead vocal is outstanding, but I also like the arrangement and the production. It's fun, it's rollicking, it's tight, and it rocks without going to the extreme. For comparison, I'm posting both versions:

Fogerty's is like a garage-rock version, while Carl's is almost a Vegas residency presentation, a real showpiece with its production. I don't think it's a great song regardless, but I'd definitely rather listen to Carl's.

Am I the only one here who loves both versions?

Am I the only one here who loves both versions? It's funny. I don't think there's a John Fogerty lead vocal that I don't like - except this one. He's shouting in a strange tone of voice. Almost manic. It doesn't suit the song or the lyrics. I guess the backing track is fine, but even that's a little stiff with the guitar too prominent in the mix. Carl's version is definitely more polished without losing any of the spirit of the song. The production is great. Kudos to Skunk Baxter.

I can't believe someone voted for the album opener, What More Can I Say, as the worst. Man, that song gets the album off to a great start! Great rocker, love those guitars!
