This was full of interesting stories from Ron, and again, no hints at a medical condition or long-term illness. How quickly things can change in life. Thanks for posting, Sheriff John Stone . Edit - Also, I have to mention, it's astounding how many interesting people the host has interviewed, considering that he's clearly an amateur, quite young, and has only 83 YouTube subscribers. (Is he more popular on other platforms, perhaps?) Among Beach Boys related people, he's spoken with David Beard, Scott Totten, Richie Cannata, Joel Peskin, Mark Linnett, Brent Wilson, Paul Mertens, Carli Munoz, Stephen Kalinich, Geoffrey Cushing Murray, Philip Bardowell, Jon Stebbins, Gary Griffin, Probyn Gregory, Chris Farmer, David Leaf, Bobby Figueroa... And then he's also had a handful of former basketball players and coaches, apparently with University of Rhode Island in common. (I recognize most of the names, but it's a hilarious, strange corner of the basketball world... I hope he gets the great Lamar Odom!)

Love The Cowsills! "Hair" might be my favorite song of theirs. Check out this period piece from 1969:

I have probably watched that video 200 times. It never gets old. Those kids played their own instruments on the track. Evidently John had a hard time timing his vocals on the bridge. I always get a little sad when I see this because Bill was so extremely talented and he passed away way too soon. Can’t recommend Family Band - The Cowsills Story enough. It’s just heartbreaking, but really shows how talented they were. I get just as excited about seeing John with The Beach Boys as I do seeing Mike and Bruce.

Eighty-two. Unbelievable. I wonder, if you'd asked Mike Love in 1961, how long he expected to be singing for this band of theirs, what he'd have said. Probably something like "as long as I can," but he would have had to have thought a few years, five years, maybe 10 at the outside.
If you'd asked him whether he expected he'd be 82 years old and singing rock and roll music professionally, I'm guessing you'd have gotten a strange look and maybe a laugh as a response.

It's true that Mike never was the best looking Beach Boy, with his hair receding very early on, but the man has aged incredibly well. The meditation clearly has helped him a lot, along with a healthy lifestyle. Will he still be on stage at 90, the George Burns of rock and roll?

I think as long as he's still able to hit the stage, it's very likely.

I wonder what would happen if, for some reason, Bruce had to retire. Would Mike replace him? Does the group need that keyboard and/or voice? I'm assuming there is no longer a clause in Mike's contract/agreement with BRI that he (specifically his touring Beach Boys) needs to provide so many (two?) Beach Boys on stage for any concert performed.

Less clapping and fewer mic stand adjustments.
