Is there enough interest to do a thread on this? Or the other ex-Beatles? I figured I'd start with the cute one, since his catalog is by far the largest, although Ringo is catching up. Or maybe we'd rather rate the Rutles albums one by one.

Or maybe we'd rather rate the Rutles albums one by one. Sure -- at least if I'm familiar with the album in question, which will only be now and again. I have great trouble with "worsts" in general so I'll stick to "least memorable" and hope for the best (no pun intended). But yes -- sounds good, LS.

To be honest, while the BBs solo best/worst threads are about to kick off and the Springsteen thread is going on, I'm not sure I'll have time to dedicate to re-listening to another series of albums enough to be informed. (Of course, some of these albums, I already know very well. But there are others I really only listened to when we did the ratings threads a while back, so I'd need refreshers.)
So while I'd be happy to chime in on occasion, I can't guarantee great participation.

I'll chime in, but to be honest, I probably don't have it in me to listen to the full Macca catalog again. But, I think I know enough from memory to remember the best / worst.

I won't be listening to anything, just commenting on what I know already. This should be fun and not a chore...

I find listening to new music to be fun, not a chore. (I'm thinking of the pleasure I've gotten out of The River this week, which I wasn't especially familiar with until now as a very timely example.) But it's a time-consuming kind of fun. I don't want to over-commit, is all.
As I said, I'm glad to chime in on what I know, but so much of Paul's (and the others') solo material is stuff I'm not familiar with, I just don't know how often my comments would be remotely interesting or informed if I don't listen. I feel like I owe it to myself, the thread-managers (lonelysummer in this case if he goes forward with it), and the board to do that much.

Okay, we'll start with the McCartney album. Let's see, from memory, the track listing is:
The Lovely Linda That Would Be Something Valentine Day Every Night Hot as Sun/Glasses Junk Man We Was Lonely Ooh You
Momma Miss America Teddy Boy Singalong Junk Maybe I'm Amazed Kreen Akrore
I know which one is gonna win in a landslide, but curious what will land like a thud at the bottom.

Best - “Maybe I’m Amazed” - I’m a HUGE fan of “Every Night”, but it’s not “Maybe I’m Amazed”. And this is my favorite version of the song.
Worst - “Kreen- Akrore” - I think this is an even more obvious choice than “Maybe I’m Amazed” for best.

Lots of good songs on here.
Most memorable (just to be different): "Teddy Boy". I've loved this song ever since hearing an early demo of it.
Least memorable (if I have to choose one): "The Lovely Linda", only because you might say it serves an an introduction rather than a song.

I actually have about five songs in my mind for worst. Listening now, and having some trouble picking one.

Best - Maybe I'm Amazed - Easy choice. This is also my favorite version of the song. I've never liked the more downbeat live version as much.
Worst - Man We Was Lonely - I'm not sure which part I find more irritating. The intentional bad grammar or the repetitiveness.

Worst - “Kreen- Akrore” - I think this is an even more obvious choice than “Maybe I’m Amazed” for best. Kreen Akrore is pretty awful. I nearly went with that. But, for some reason, Man We Was Lonely has always annoyed me a little more.

I'll also go with "Maybe I'm Amazed" as the BEST and "Kreen Akrore" as the WORST. And, I'm pretty sure Paul would've gone with "Maybe I'm Amazed", too. He continues to pull that one out every night he performs and really gets into it...despite struggling vocally with it. I think it's an important song to him.

“Maybe I’m Amazed” is a brilliant song that I never tire of. The lyrics remind me of the lyrics on Pet Sounds - Timeless and True.
“Kleenex Akore” gets my vote for least favorite. Nothing to like there.

Another vote her for that album closing drum solo as the worst. There isn't anything on this album I hate, but that one feels pointless to me, and it sounds like he's playing drums with cardboard heads. Maybe it's just practice pads! I still like this version of Maybe I'm Amazed best. It's studio-perfect. The Wings version is great in a different way, more dynamic with Joe English's drumming, and Jimmy McCulloch's guitar playing. Vocally, though, this version has Paul hitting notes he couldn't hit every night on tour - even back in 76. I would like to mention Every Night and Teddy Boy as two personal favorites. I had this album on cassette and remember listening to it in the back of the family van on a road trip.
