My picks focus on the words this time around.
- A Young Man is Gone: Great singing, stupid lyrics in unnecessary (and quickly dated...even by the time they did it?) rewrite. - It's About Time: Cool track, but again, it's the lyrics. So dumb.

My votes are for “A Young Man Is Gone” and “And Your Dreams Come True”. Mostly because I like the other songs better.

1. "And Your Dreams Come True" - I mean, it's not a bad song. It's not special either, rare for a BW song of that era.
2. "A Young Man Is Gone" - I never thought the melody of "Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring" was anything great. Obviously Brian did. And, yeah, the lyrics are slightly...strange. Excuse me if I'm not inspired or touched by the death of James Dean, which really should have had nothing to do with the Little Deuce Coupe album.

Pet Sounds is my first choice. It's always sounded like a novelty track to me; it breaks the mood of side two of Pet Sounds. And Your Dream Comes True. There's not much too it; sweet vocals, but the lyric is just too sugary sweet for me in my jaded, cynical old age.

Pet Sounds is my first choice. It's always sounded like a novelty track to me; it breaks the mood of side two of Pet Sounds. “Pet Sounds” is brilliant and I love it. It’s my favorite of all of the songs remaining. It reminds me of something I would hear coming from the basement bar area during my parent’s cocktail parties. “Take Five”, “Mas que Nada” and “Pet Sounds”. So hip - so cool - so 60’s. I couldn’t wait to grow up and have my own cocktail parties, with tropical drinks, maraschino cherries, tiny umbrella’s, and tasty hors-d’oeuvre’s. My parents even had an indoor fountain and a dance floor. The bar was tiki themed. It was glorious.

I’m surprised “Beaks of Eagles” is still going strong. It’s the least liked part of a medley, and moreso than its counterparts (“Big Sur” and “California”), relies on being part of something else (i.e. it doesn’t work very well as a standalone track). It also features spoken word throughout, which isn’t very popular (here or elsewhere).

It will be getting my vote in the next round, however.

But removed from the saga, removed from Holland, I don’t think it stacks up on its own to this extent (it’ll finish in the top 4 of a list that started with 39 tracks).

It's far and away my least favorite of the trilogy, but compared to so many of the songs on this list, it's pretty damn good. For me, nearly everything from the mid 60s to mid (or even later) 70s is pretty much above all but the very best early and late material, with a few exceptions. I'm just not a fan of the earliest raw and amateurish surf stuff or the 80s songs and production (which lasted into the 90s). So the worst song of the trilogy? No problem. It's only now, as we get to the final batch of songs, that I'm even beginning to consider where Beaks of Eagles will fit.
(To be fair, there are also probably 3-4 songs or more that have been voted off that I would have kept over it, but that wasn't my decision.)

I'm struggling with "Pet Sounds" and asking myself if I would consider it as highly if it wasn't a part of the Pet Sounds album.

I think Pet Sounds is great, personally. Honestly it's baffling that anyone might like Nearest Faraway Place more than it. To me they are in different universes.
To me, the latter is a corny pop song, minus vocal, with gaudy muzak flourishes in a vocal's place. Pet Sounds is interesting and textured song on its own.
