I don't have the Arthur album but it contains two of my all-time favorite Kinks' songs, "Victoria" and "Shangri-La".
Rumors keep cropping up about a Kinks' reunion, or at least a new studio album. Ray has some songs stockpiled.

This whole Woodstock 50 thing has been intriguing to me. They'll be able to make another Woodstock documentary just out of everything that transpired without a note of music being played!

Seems cool. I've never really gotten into Linda Ronstadt, actually, but I actually like what I do know a lot. My parents loved her, I know that. (Though she became popular after they were having us kids and had mostly checked out of pop music.)

Saw that. He was just here and got positive reviews despite a brief set. A shame.

Two of my nieces went to see the Backstreet Boys' concert last night in the HersheyPark Stadium in Hershey, PA. The Backstreet Boys performed for a couple of minutes and then were whisked off the stage because of impending thunderstorms. It did pour, the stadium was evacuated, and the concert was cancelled. It eventually stopped raining but there was some talk about the concert having to end at 11:00 PM due to laws or something so the concert never resumed. Hershey still doesn't know what to do - refund the money/tickets, reschedule the concert, or do nothing.
Anybody have any cancelled concert stories?

Anybody have any cancelled concert stories? A friend of mine went to that show last night too. In August 2011, a friend had an extra ticket to see Jimmy Buffett in Bristow, VA. We were going to tailgate, see the show, and stay at a hotel nearby and come home the next day. However, our plans were altered by Hurricane Irene. Due to the threat, the concert was postponed a couple days prior, so we were at least spared the trouble of driving there just to get soaked. Neither of us could make the makeup date, so my friend got a refund. In lieu of going to the show, we had a "Hurricane Party." The storm had downgraded to a Tropical Storm, and our area luckily just got a day long rain. But, we played Buffett tunes, had some Land Sharks and Hurricane cocktails, grilled some food, and had a great time.

Sad news. Seems like a really good guy.

Sad news. Seems like a really good guy. Yeah, Eddie was a cop-in-training in New York City before turning to music as a career. He's overcome drug and alcohol problems of his own. Let's hope he can pull through this illness.

Let's hope he can pull through this illness. That's probably why he's a big supporter of the military and law enforcement. I saw him three years ago. Still sounded great.

Nicki Manaj is apparently retiring from music. This came as a shock to me as I was unaware that the noise she put out was classified as "music."
