A new, obviously very posthumous Harry Nilsson studio album has been announced for a November release. Losst and Founnd reportedly features nine originals and two covers (Jimmy Webb, Yoko Ono) that Nilsson was working with producer Mark Hudson on when he died. Hudson finished the album with contributions from Jim Keltner, Van Dyke Parks, and Harry’s son Kiefo, among others. Hudson has had long songwriting and production relationships with Aerosmith and Ringo Starr, among many other acts. The story linked below includes links to two songs, “UCLA” and “Lost and Found.” The former is a laid back tune with a pretty clear baritone vocal; the latter is a more rollicking tune with a more ambitious, and more wrecked, vocal, but also with a bigger arrangement including background vocals to help out. pitchfork.com/news/new-harry-nilsson-album-losst-and-founnd-announced/

I saw that and was trying to think how many songs of those two I know off the top of my head. I came up with "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira. I'm sure I know some J. Lo. songs but can't think of any off the top of my head. So, one. But I'm sure they'll both look fabulous on stage.

Is it not woke of me to hope for a wardrobe malfunction? I find it a bit puzzling that the NFL tries to get the younger demo by getting popstars who were in their prime 10-15 years ago. These ladies are infinity more talented than any female pop tart of the last decade, but I honestly can't recall the last time I heard a song from either.

This is just my opinion, I haven't read or heard anything, but I think The NFL is a little scared to go with current, younger, edgier acts. Every day the NFL is on display - and on trial - thanks to the, frankly, thug-like, narcissistic, and selfish behavior of some of their superstars. The image of the NFL is not too good right now. I think the J. Lo/Shakira choice is an attempt to walk a fine line in being both sexy and safe. It'll be well-done I'm sure. J. Lo will be wearing as little as legally possible, they'll lipsynch a few hits, and then it'll all be re-hashed on Monday morning. Who cares?

The NFL doesn't want to pull legacy acts because they'll appear out of touch. But, they don't want younger pop stars because of what you mentioned. So, they go the ultra safe route (I guess). Although, I'm willing to bet the Jennifer and Shakira will be a little more covered than usual.

David Hasselhoff has a new album of covers featuring guest stars ranging from Tracii Guns to Todd Rundgren to Charlie Daniels to Flock of Seagulls. Songs include Glenn Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy," Whitesnake's "Here I go Again," and The Archies' "Sugar Sugar."
What a world we live in.

Is it not woke of me to hope for a wardrobe malfunction? Heterosexual male attracted to beautiful females? I'm shocked and offended! Well, it's 2019 after all. As a heterosexual white male, I have to buy special shoes designed for walking on eggshells.

The sad part about this is I'm more intrigued by this than maybe any other release of 2019.

Never let a good anniversary go to waste seems to be the mantra of the day: the Band's 1969 self-titled classic second album is getting the 50th anniversary treatment this fall. My CD is a 2000 remaster with bonus tracks and outtakes along with new liner notes, but I suppose there are always more liner notes to write, more photos to include, and more tweaks and snippets to release.
