One of the factors in play here is the venues themselves. When the dates started getting postponed in 2020, a lot of these places rebooked shows for one year later, thinking the pandemic would be resolved by then. But it turns out that was over-optimistic, and now they're rescheduling those dates again. For example, I have tickets for one show (non BB) that was originally set for May 2020, rescheduled to May 2021, and has now been moved to the fall. I'm in the same boat with tickets for a Ringo show for June 2020, that was pushed to June 2021. Three months out, I'm expecting an announcement any day now of either another postponement or cancellation.

Ohio governor Mike DeWine announced that all covid related restrictions will be removed once we reach 50 or less cases per 100,000 people for two weeks in a row. Based on current rends, everything should be fully open around Memorial Day. I wouldn't be surprised if nearly all states are back to normal by that time. Obviously some are already opening up and there will probably be a few laggards like California.

Maryland has been pretty strict with the restrictions, particularly in Baltimore City. Despite our positivity rate being below 3%, I'd be very surprised if we return to normal any time soon. I think optimistically, maybe July 1.

The venues are a factor, but I think it has to start with The Beach Boys. If I was the Tour Manager for BRI (or whatever title is designated), and I was putting out a poster/posting/visual/advertisement like the one above, with every "possible" date for the tour listed, keeping the pandemic in mind, wouldn't you first contact all of the venues and confirm/cancel the dates BEFORE advertising them? That's part of the job, maybe the most important part of the job of that Tour Manager right now. Isn't that the first thing any ticket holder - or potential ticket buyer - is going to think? Gee, I wonder if that show is really gonna come off? How do I know? I guess I'll have to call the venue and ask them. Again, the purpose of the advertisement is, or should be, to PROMOTE the shows, or alert potential ticket buyers to the dates. But, dontcha think you (BRI) oughta at least make sure there is a show first?

I suppose it's a matter of venue+act agreeing: is it on as of now but may be called off; or off as of now but if it happens, this is the date? Is the current default status a Y or N?
In places that aren't either already open, or clearly trending toward being open by the contractual date, it seems weird to promote specific dates. I'm sure fans don't particularly like having announced dates be pushed out two, three times... I'd rather have TBD until it's a near-certainty.

Sheriff John Stone John Stone your show has been postponed again to 4/10/22. Maybe it'll become a C60 event.

Mike and Bruce shows being postponed to 2022 probably isn't a great sign for a possible reunion, but venues and dates can change too.

On Monday, 3/15/21, Michael Edward Love turns 80 years old. Can you believe it? A Beach Boys turns 80! The first of hopefully many...birthdays and Beach Boys turning 80, that is. I remember when I first became a Beach Boys' fan in 1974-75. I thought the Beach Boys were old then. They had beards (sprinkled with a few gray hairs), receding hairlines, a few wrinkles, and wore Hawaiian shirts. Now, here we are, almost a half century later, and Mike has more gray hair in his beard (well, completely white actually ), a more-receding hairline (I'll be kind), a few more wrinkles (but not many more), and wears even more-colorful shirts.
And, Mike is still out there "doin' it", both on the road and in the studio. The man never stops. Yes, there's been some bumps in the road, some significant ones, but in the end, he's still singing that same song...or songs. Some like him, some hate him. Some criticize him, some praise him. Some wish he would just stop, some thank him for continuing on. One thing you can't debate. In his own unique way, Mike Love has brought joy, musical joy, to millions and millions of people.
Happy 80th Birthday, Mike Love!

When I really first started to get into classic artists in the 1990s, most of them were in the their 40s and 50s, and I remember thinking "will they still be going in their 60s." Then, they did, and then into their 70s, and now we're seeing octogenarians.
Happy Birthday Mike.

"Hope I die before I get old."
"Never trust anyone over 30."
Half a lifetime or more later, those of that generation (who still can) are for the most part still at it. And nobody is more "still at it" than Mike Love. To borrow and rework Brian's line, Mike may not be a genius, but he is a hard-workin' guy.

Yes, it's obvious what Parks is trying to do. He's attempting to embarrass Mike Love - on his birthday - by linking him to Donald Trump. I think Parks only succeeds at making himself look like a regretful, pathetic figure who, sadly at his age, still finds it necessary to carry out vendettas...publicly.

VDP is far more unlikeable than Mike. Grow up, man!
