With the lush arrangement of the full version, you'd almost expect more vocal harmonies throughout. It's interesting how often it's just two-part and of course there are the unison lines, too. But beautiful. I think this Wilson fellow has a talent for harmonies...

Both mesmerizing and inspiring.

The snippet of “Behold the Night” is enticing! Never heard it before, and it sounds like a complete recording! Links at SSMB.

Typical Dennis melody, which is to say, barely a melody, more a note or two. But the track is really cool from what we can hear. I'm really looking forward to hear the whole thing, to hear how it begins, unfolds, etc.

I finally decided what to purchase: I went all-in on the 5-CD set. Even though I know that inevitably I'll rip most of it to my laptop rather than listen on CD, and I'll probably read the liner notes once or twice and then set it on the shelf beside the other boxes, I decided it was worth it to me.
At a little over $100, it's steep, but it's not like I'm out buying CDs every week the way I used to. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal. And I do want to send my little message to the band: keep releasing sets like this, there is a market!

I'm waiting to see what shows up on Tidal. When you're already paying $20 a month for a premium service, it's kind of hard to defend buying the same exact thing in physical form and having it delivered when with at the touch of a button you can listen to the entire thing already in the best possible streaming technology. It will be curious to see what the level of streaming is whether it is a master's-level or a HiFi level, and I believe the HiFi level is equivalent to a physical CD. In any case it's August 28th right that this will be streaming? Best wishes to all I finally decided what to purchase: I went all-in on the 5-CD set. Best wishes to all It's released on Friday, Aug. 27, so I'd guess it is streaming then unless those services wait a day or something in some attempt at spurring purchase.
Just noticed that my Amazon order confirmation says it is expected to be delivered on Sept. 6. wtf.

"Imagine creating the most sonicly perfect, joyful music, and it doesn't find its way to the audience."
Cool video. Here it is directly:

Near the end of the above video, Al Jardine says, "(we were) handicapped by a lot of issues including the, ah, technical stuff..."
Does anybody know what he is talking about?

I took it to reference the difference between a professional studio with trained personnel on the one hand and a home studio where they're handling more themselves. Troubleshooting, setup, routing, etc. I realize they had engineers there working, but you have to assume their at-home, hands-on approach had its downside in terms of support.
