For me, I think the Feel Flows box is more intriguing. There's some unreleased songs, and live versions that I'm looking forward to hearing. Where as, I really have a feeling the LPR doc is going to tread a lot of the same ground we've already seen on IJWMFTT, BW on Tour, Beautiful Dreamer, and even Endless Harmony. I agree regarding the doc, but even taking into account the new recordings? What if it were an all-new BW album instead of just a new song and some covers? If it were a new album of BW originals, I'd probably be more interested. At this point, I'd welcome an album of new original songs from either of the Boys.

Thanks, TCK.
Despite my gentle pushback against KDS, I actually went Feel Flows, too. That era is among my favorites--not at the level of '65-'67 for me, but probably the next-best couple of years--and frankly I've always had a soft spot for the leftovers from those days, sometimes even more than what was released. So hearing this stuff is still exciting to me, even if it's buried in a sea of things I'm less enthusiastic about.
If there were a wholly new Brian Wilson album accompanying the doc--or even an EP's worth of new stuff--that could flip my interest in that direction. For that matter, the novelty of Feel Flows might wear off before LPR gets broad streaming release, so I might eventually change my vote.

Now that the poll is up, I formally voted for Feel Flows.
I will say that my changes in how I buy music have changed my excitement level. If this were 2014 or 2015, I probably wouldn't blink twice at dropping a C note for the five disc box set. But, priorities and spending habits have shifted in my life, so I'm pretty content to hear the tracks via Spotify. After all, even when I did spend money on boxsets and archive releases, I rarely listened to them often.
But, I think it's great that a spotlight is being shone on this era of Beach Boys music.

I think I'm more interested in hearing the new Brian song than anything on the Feel Flows set (as I've heard a fair amount on boots), but on the whole I'm more interested in the boxset. Although with that said, I'll probably be more likely to revisit the documentary than the boxset, aside from a few songs. How's that for an answer?

I apologize in advance for repeating what I've been saying along, but I do not have high hopes for the Long Promised Road doc. I think Brian both doesn't have much interesting to say and has no interest or desire (meaning making an effort!) to share what insights he has. Also, I'm not holding out much hope that the new recordings will have much artistic merit. Been there, heard it. Now, if Brian would commit to a full-fledged reunion with Mike, Al, Bruce, David, and Blondie - and Joe Thomas - in the studio...
I'm also beating the proverbial dead horse with Feel Flows, but this ridiculous delay has left a sour taste in my mouth. I actually have developed a bad attitude about it. Heck, in a few moths it will time for the Carl & The Passions sessions' anniversary.
