I have to admit that whenever I see things like this, I hope the general audience takes it in a good and generous spirit as opposed to an objective, critical one.
In this case, that means enjoying the spirit of the songs as performed by one of our greatest legends, even though he is (clearly) far past his prime in terms of performance.
If they do the former, I think it was a nice, enjoyable, and even touching experience. If the latter, well, we've all seen how people talk online...

I often wonder (please let me) how an unassuming public reacts to a 2020 Brian Wilson vocal performance, perhaps being somewhat unaware of his past issues, decline of his voice etc. On one hand, they probably don't take the fact that he's performing for granted as much as hardcore BB fans do. But, on the other hand, if all they know are the hits from the 60s, they might be a bit taken aback by how Brian sounds now.

Brian sings happy birthday to Nancy Sinatra. I could even hear a little bit of the old Brian at the end.
