I don't think there is any chance of that last part coming true until after the principals are deceased. (And let's be serious, mostly Brian.) Because they had been recording him in the studio since sometime in the '70s, as I recall*, to memorialize his input as much as possible in the unlikely event that he either dropped out entirely or worse.
But you have to consider the mental and musical shape he was in most of the time over those last few decades: not great. That kind of video wouldn't make for chart-topping teen idol success, to say the least. It would probably be embarrassing, to a point, the sort of thing you show as a curiosity or even as evidence of the man's and band's decline.
So maybe someday. But not during their lifetimes, or at least Brian's.
*I admit I don't recall where I got this from. I swear I have read it, but if I'm wrong, or if it is wrong, apologies.
I don't expect to ever see any sort of session video release at any point. But, I would like to see some sort of video anthology at some point, collecting any promo videos or key TV appearances they're able to get the rights to. Although, considering Mike and Bruce play clips on their screen with a Vh1 Classic bug in the corner, I'm thinking any official release would be unlikely. I might be overly optimistic, and I'm going to be long, long, long, LONG gone, but there will come a time (many times actually) when Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys' music will be considered very important and their lives/career very intriguing, and for historical purposes, the more video footage available, the better! How's that for a sentence.

You mentioned BRI and effort, and, I always thought that BRI and/or Brian Wilson should've scoured the earth for any SMiLE recording's they could get their hands on - just for historical purposes. All of it. All collectors compensated. Would've it run into the hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars? Maybe. Probably. But it would've been worth it, and I think they both could've afforded it.

In fairness, they did release a six disc Smile Sessions Set. Hell, I bought the two disc set, and have never had a desire to spin the second disc again.

What brought this up? Has it been re-released or re-semi-released or whatever? (I don't think it was especially formal in its SoundCloud version a few years ago.) I note it was not posted by an official account.
I wasn't especially thrilled by it then and still am not, though I also don't dislike it. It is pretty enough.

From Al's official website:
NEW SINGLE WAVES OF LOVE 2.0 Al Jardine has a new single now available just in time for Valentine’s Day! “Waves of Love 2.0,” originally released as a bonus track on A Postcard from California, has been re-recorded by Al’s longtime producer and songwriting collaborator Larry Dvoskin from New York. The new East Coast mix features classic Beach Boys-sounding vocal dit-dits and was also one of Al’s last vocal collaborations with Carl Wilson. Says Al, “It’s exciting to share this great East Coast version of ‘Waves of Love’ with my fans. Larry Dvoskin’s impeccable dit-dits do me proud and there will also be a new West Coast version on my soon to be re-released solo album A Postcard from California!” Look for a limited-edition autographed CD single, which will also include a bonus track, “Jenny Clover,” about a beautiful little milk cow cared for by The Jardines and written by Al, his wife Mary Ann and Larry Dvoskin, who also produced the song.

I wish Al, Mike, and Mike understood the standard lifecycle of a song: write it, record it, release it, play it live indefinitely as you see fit.
Not write it, record it, record it, rewrite it, record it, release it, rewrite it, rerecord it, rerecord it, release it, release it, release it, rewrite it, rerecord it, rerecord it, release it, release it, release it, release it...

Anyone remember this? It's a pretty wild video. I can't believe I still come across stuff like this I've never seen before. Landy was definitely keeping Brian in the public eye, that's for sure.

Oh, I remember this one. While I'll always appreciated - and welcomed - Brian "going way out there", I thought this video was an example of bad taste, especially considering the problems and issues Brian had faced, was facing, and would always face. I mean, WTF...

No...great is an exaggeration. However, I do think if the right person, the right producer, would've entered the picture in 1988 and produced Sweet Insanity, tweaked the songs, and re-written many of the lyrics, the album would've been better than Brian Wilson (the first solo album). I thought the songs still had some of the old BW magic, and Brian's voice wasn't as in-your-face and shouty. I like some of the SI vocals. The only this is...there was no chance of that "right person" entering the picture. Not in 1988.
On a side note, that video is disturbing. Whatever drugs Brian was on, they literally affected the way he was able to - or not - move his frickin' face! The muscles in his face/jaw/mouth were being directly affected by drugs that were being prescribed. How uncomfortable that must've been, not just for Brian, but for the hostess, Katie Couric. I saw it the day it aired. It was disturbing to me.

Another '91 BW interview passed through my recommended videos. A lot of autobiography and Landy talk.

Never saw or heard of that, as far as I can recall. And I watched a lot of MTV in that era! Then again, I was 11 and focused mostly on things with shredding guitars, so I might have just been blind to it. The song itself would've meant nothing to me at the time, and ditto seeing Brian Wilson. No way I'd have recognized his name or picture.
