A Master performing his art. Every second is perfectly choreographed.

Here's another Sammy Davis, Jr. video. Sammy is performing a suite from the Broadway show, Stop The World - I Want To Get Off, which he starred in. Sammy is just coming to the song, "What Kind Of Fool Am I", written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. This is an unbelievable performance, actually bringing Sammy to tears. I was so impressed how Sammy would go to these lengths to entertain his audience. Talk about giving 100% and the audience getting their money's worth.
I tried to start the video at the right spot. If it doesn't work, please go to 1:07:34.

I won't quite call this a "favorite" YouTube video, but I came across it this morning and wanted to share.
Steve Lukather, brilliant session guitarist, talks about working with Michael Jackson on Thriller. But the coolest thing is, the first session he did on the project was "The Girl is Mine," with MJ and Paul McCartney. But he says the first thing they did when they assembled the killer studio band and got to know one another was jam on the Stevie Wonder tune (covered by the BBs, of course) "I Was Made to Love Her."
He says he assumes there is tape of that somewhere, the killer studio musicians playing that song with Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney singing! I would ... not quite kill for it, but certainly hurt a fellow.

Tom Waits (or whoever manages what seems to be the Tom Waits channel) appears to have focused on YouTube lately. Here is his 1999 VH1 Storytellers show.

This one has been fascinating me recently. Watch the Allianz video on the previous page and you'll see these guys in the audience!
Bioconstructor was an early Soviet synth band. From 1987, this is "Teleturizm":

Very cool. While Bitches Brew era Miles isn't my favorite Miles, it's still great. It's a surprise that he didn't have a guitarist for that set ... though between the bass and keyboards, half the time it sounds like there is a guitar in amongst the glorious cacophony anyway.
Are you a Miles and/or jazz fan generally, @robesimo?

In a Silent Way is fantastic. Bitches Brew is usually regarded as the high point of his electric music, but I prefer IaSW to it.
Knowing you like those, I'll see if I can tee up some other jazz you might like in that thread.

These darling twins (TwinsthenewTrend) will listen to each decade music with fresh ears & introduce us loyal subscribers to new songs. I got to like Depeche Mode's "Strangelove" (didn't even check single song by this group till I found this amazing channel, didn't think I'd like its music) & Digable Planets' "Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)". Video to each is very stylish b&w. 1st respective song is musically super stylish, "drone" vocals (at least to these ears), piano/synth adding to kinda macabre mood, the guy's idiosyncratic dance moves, supermodel type girls with gloomy faces gazing at camera, it's really weird video, trip-inducing. "Cool Like Dat" - it's jazz mixed with Noo Hawk studio, hip-hop (rap?), big bass (cello?) riff is really cool, it brings Coffee&Cigarettes, sitting back at chair, chill images. & fact that 3 people - 2 guys & single girl, each black - added speeches, everybody tells tale by turns, is icing to the cake. Listen 🔊🎵:

These guys are great. It's the perfect way to introduce younger folks to older music. It's not my scene but then it's not aimed at my generation! Glad you like it, zz.

Since we're talking about MTV memories, here's the first music video that really made an impression on me as a young 'un.

Thanks for clarifying, zz. Agree about staying loyal to the channel(s) one subscribes to.
I think the "roller skating jam" comments refer to the music folks listen to while doing trick stuff on half-pipes etc, rather than skates (or skateboards) as a mode of transport. And yes, they do fall from time to time -- I know I would!
