I came across this review for Carli Munoz's upcoming memoir, A Fool's Journey: To the Beach Boys & Beyond (Oct. 10, 2023). According to the review, and I suppose as could be inferred from the title, "a good chunk of [the] memoir" is dedicated to his time with the Beach Boys, "so readers get another look at the fabled band and its inner turmoil: Brian Wilson’s mental health issues, the growing friction between singer Mike Love and the Wilson brothers, and the drug problems of Dennis Wilson."
This might be an interesting read.

I saw that Carli is doing some events in Illinois to promote the book. I live in WI, so I'm planning on making it to one of those. Carli is a very cool, down to earth guy. Not to mention extremely talented as well. He was a key contributor to Bambu. He seems like a genuine guy and I'm quite excited to hear his story in depth. I don't think he has an axe to grind with any members so I don't think it'll be overly 'political' or biased. Should be a neat read.
The initial thing that drew me to becoming more interested in Carli was the fact that he wrote one of favorite Dennis Wilson songs, "All Alone". A song that seems to have captured where Dennis was at in life so accurately that it's spooky. No wonder he wanted it on his album. I was very surprised initially to find out that Denny didn't write All Alone, and some other Bambu songs, but it makes more sense when you learn about Carli's association with the album, and BBs at the time. I think it's really cool that Dennis was willing to spotlight other writers on his album.

While I'm not sure it's exactly an axe to grind, I do think he pretty strongly affiliated himself with the Wilsons and other "free living" members. Didn't he flat-out call Mike Love an asshole on beachboystalkmatt's show when interviewed? (I think it was something like "Describe [topic] in one word," and that was the word for Mike. I could be wrong, and if so, apologies to Mssrs. Munoz and Love!) I don't mind Carli having strong opinions on those things, just like I don't mind if Mike, Bruce, or Al do--just so long as they seem honest and don't seem to be unfair in the telling. It's easy to see why people in either camp would be supremely frustrating for those in the other.

Kapitan, now that you mention it, I do kinda recall what you're referring to from the BBs Talk Episode. And you are right that he was definitely close to the Wilson Bros side of affairs.
I just don't get the vibe, based on what I've heard from him say and how he conducts himself, that his book will be one of the sensationalized fallacy-filled reads like the Pamplin and Gaines books. I expect it to be an uplifting story.

A new review of Carli's book. Of interest to Beach Boys fans, "A good chunk of his memoir is devoted to that era, so readers get another look at the fabled band and its inner turmoil: Brian Wilson’s mental health issues, the growing friction between singer Mike Love and the Wilson brothers, and the drug problems of Dennis Wilson." www.amherstbulletin.com/Book-Bag-52512546

Does anyone here have the book yet? On the day of release, I got a note from Amazon that delivery on my preordered copy of the book was being delayed for several weeks. So I'm still waiting for it to ship.

So I'm still waiting for it to ship. Amazon says Dec. 1-11 on this end (which is funny considering it still shows a release date of two days ago).
