Hi all,
The song for the week is Dance, Dance Dance. It is a song about what everyone wants to do after a week of school., work and at the start of summer. It is an upbeat song. Also, a great one to dance to.

It's a great song, MaryUSA. I love the lead guitar lines, and more than that, the background/harmony vocals chugging along with the rhythm while Brian's falsetto wails atop it all throughout the chorus.
I, myself, don't especially like to dance, dance, dance, but I do love to listen to that song (and yeah, I can't help but tap my toes a little!).

"Dance, Dance, Dance"...one of the rare early Beach Boys' records partly written by Carl Wilson (and Mike Love, who wrote the lyrics), but look at the credit on the 45:

DDD is a song that actually took me a little while to warm up to. Probably because I don't much care for dancing. I don't recall when it really clicked, maybe when I saw Brian's band do it in 2015, but the arrangement and vocals are just so good.

Also, a great one to dance to. Mary Hi Mary. Yes, one of my top five Beach Boys tracks. The word "joyous" was invented for this song! And it demonstrates Brian's judicious use of percussion (sleigh bells, castanets) as compared to Uncle Phil's wall of sound/kitchen sink approach. Oh, and I never dance -- at least, not without an ambulance standing by (more for the onlookers than for myself).
