Times aren't ideal at the moment, but yet they could be much worse. Anything in particular strike you recently as worth being thankful for?
This afternoon I did my taxes, and I was able to blow through them in less than an hour! Online filing is itself a miracle, but the way it has improved (importing W2s, etc., to reduce manual data entry) is even more one.
And you know what else? Speaking of the internet, while we're all cooped up more than we'd probably like to be, the fact that the entirety of recorded entertainment is available at our fingertips is pretty great.
Those are a few things I'm feeling especially thankful for at the moment.

I'm thankful that my family and friends are all well and taking care of themselves, and for the ability to communicate with them whenever I want or need to. I'm also grateful for my job, and the ability to work from home.

I'm thankful that it didn't snow overnight, contrary to our forecast. Spring might be chilly, windy, and a little damp, but it's not white!

I'm also grateful for my job, and the ability to work from home. That just about sums up my thanks as well. I'm also thankful for the friends I can converse with online, at least one of whom has become a friend for life. And on the ground, there's our weekly delivery of organic vegetables, fruit and pasta from a local farm. Yes, things could be much worse (think Edgar Allan Poe and John Wyndham).

It's a balmy 16 degrees celsius here (60.8 F) this morning, with a thunderstorm forecast for around 10am. So I decided to have my morning coffee outside on the front porch just so I could feel the mild air on my skin for a bit before the storm rolls in. It was nice to enjoy a leisurely morning before work in that way, so I'm pretty thankful for that. Even the part where my neighbours across the street brought their broken toilet out to the curb, lol.

This is what happens when you stockpile... you end up using more than is necessary!

Thanks to @theprofessor to like my 2 replies about Al's album & my San Francisco trip. You're good & friendly in my book. If there is BBs fan gathering, it'd be nice to chat with you & exchange our appreciation for the best ever city San Francisco.🤗 Whilst I'm in this thread, would like to thank my grandma's ancient friend Nina who moved to San Fran decades back. My dwarf friend Daiana & I stayed there (in her lovely house) - for FREE!!! We didn't get any difficulty like the other tourists seeking shelter/hotel reservation etc yada yada. Jolly nice dame she is.🌞

I'm thankful that I can say I saw Bob McDonald coach a high school basketball game. McDonald, a legend in the state of Minnesota, died today at age 87 of COVID-19. All six of his kids went on to be fantastic players and coaches, themselves.
He was the all-time winningest high school basketball coach in state history. He was a strict disciplinarian with his players, and on the court he ran an equal-opportunity motion offense predicated on great ball movement and off-ball player movement. I saw him coach around the year 2000, when a friend and I ran a Minnesota-focused basketball website. (I wish more than anything we'd kept that up and seriously pursued it for a profession...) He coached against one of his kids.
We drove well over three hours north to the small town of Chisholm, Minnesota, where Bob McDonald coached. It was winter in Minnesota in an era before GPS or even smartphones. On a weeknight. When we both had day jobs. It was absolutely worth it: the gym was out of "Hoosiers," small and out of another era. It was also packed, apparently with the majority of that small town's population in attendance. We were in the wooden bleachers behind a basket. Watching him was a clinic in high school basketball.
McDonald was a coach at Chisholm for more than 50 years, made the state tournament 11 times, and won 3 state titles.
