A more recent one that gets a chuckle from me "Easy money, ain't it funny, hey what's it to ya" Amusingly enough, a Brian line from what I recall reading. Doesn't fit the fan narrative, now does it?

Christmas comes this time each year... Gee, thanks for letting me know that, Mike.

There's a few things about what transpired in 2012 that doesn't fit the fan narrative. This is one of them.

And it would've been so easy to sing "Christmas is the time for cheer."

And it would've been so easy to sing "Christmas is the time for cheer." Maybe he was just distinguishing it from Easter. No complicated schedule here, same time every year!

Speaking of Christmas songs, no specific lyric, but the concept of Merry Christmas Baby. "Yeah, I cheated, but it's Christmas."

I suppose it goes without saying, but... "If Mars had life on it, I might find my wife on it."

I suppose it goes without saying, but... "If Mars had life on it, I might find my wife on it." What's silly about that!?
Or a bit later, maybe not so silly but certainly ... not a typical lyric: "the constellations are stars that form animals; Leo and Capricorn, too."

It occurred to me earlier today just how silly most of the lines in the song are. I mean, that's not entirely surprising, but there's certainly more than one contender for inclusion in this thread!

That song in particular seems like an elementary school student being given an assignment to write a poem about the solar system. His #1 priority seems to have been coming up with things that rhyme. (Including on your example, "it" with "it.")

(Including on your example, "it" with "it.") It does, but it also seems quite deliberate. It's not just a silly line here or there that may or may not have been intentionally humorous, it seems to be much more in the vein of "She's Goin' Bald". Edit: Compositionally, at least. "Solar System" differs in that it's performed straight.
