Back in 1957/58, there was a Dutch band from The Hague calling itself The Beach Boys! René Nodelijk, Jaap Berkhout, Rudy Racz and Reyn Rozenberg all played Spanish acoustic guitars and sang. The four friends frequented the beach at nearby Scheveningen armed with their cheap guitars to impress the girls -- hence the name The Beach Boys. They never registered it, and changed their name to The Rocking Sensation Boys when they became a proper band in 1958. This is them several changes in lineup later: The only band on the linked page to make any significant national impact was René (Nodelijk) & The (sometimes His) Alligators. When I was playing semi-professionally (late ‘80s, early '90s), I and some other band members bumped into them early one morning at an all-night roadside café. indo-rock.jimdofree.com/r/the-rocking-sensation-boys-den-haag/
