Spam/scam calls are starting to add anger and hate to my life. Two things about them. First, sometimes I won't have my cell phone with me. It could be in another room and it will start ringing. I will literally drop what I'm doing (sometimes I am in a chair with things on my lap, sometimes a tray of food ) and run to answer the phone, only to discover it's a spam/scam call. Also, sometimes I will think it's a spam/scam call and I won't answer it, only to find out later it was a legitimate call from somebody who really had...something to say.

Here's one for me, and I think I mentioned this on another thread before.
People who proudly boast about avoiding something that's very popular.
The oldest one might be "I don't even own a TV."
Nowadays, its more "I don't do Facebook" "I have never watched Game of Thrones" or "I never eat at chain restaurants."
Who are you trying to impress exactly?
If you don't do those things, that's fine. But seems like an odd thing to brag about. And it reeks of smugness.
I really have no interest in Game of Thrones, but I'm not going to look down at people who enjoy it. Heaven knows with some of my interests, I can't throw stones.

People who eat while on the phone. I'm on a call right now (on mute, because much of the discussion has little to do with me), but two people on the call are eating lunch. At least put yourself on mute while chomping on your sandwich. I gotta call bullshit on that one, because there is nothing irrational about that particular hate. It's well deserved. I can’t stand when people talk with food in their mouths. I was taught not to when I was a kid. I assumed everyone was. As an adult, I’m continually shocked by how many people do. In recent years, my “hatred“ has increased exponentially (certainly to an irrational extent). I realize a large part of the problem is how eating and socializing have been combined, but I call bullshit on that. Eating only takes a few minutes. Talk before. Talk after. Not at the same time. End of rant.

I know this one is irrational, because I honestly don't know why it bothers me.
Weed / Marijuana Culture
I don't know what it is, but something about weed culture rubs me the wrong way. I smoked a bit in my early 20s. I enjoyed it. I still think Cheech and Chong are funny, as well as the movie Half Baked.
Maybe it's the putting down of alcohol that's done so often to support weed legalization (I do support legalization also BTW). Maybe it's the association with jam bands. Maybe it's the pot leaf on tee shirts. I love beer, but I don't wear shirts or necklaces with hops or barley.
I really can't put my finger on it, but it annoys me.

I totally agree despite not being opposed to legalization or, for that matter, currently illegal use. But I generally hate any kind of one-track-mind obsessions with "real life" people (so excluding, for example, people coming together on a BBs message board to talk BBs).
If you are my real-life friend, I don't want every conversation to come around to weed, in this case. But I'd say the same for booze. Or your religion. Or your politics. Or any other single thing. And back to your topic, I've known a couple of potheads who just won't ever shut the fuck up about it: how it's totally safe, maybe even good for you!; how alcohol is so much worse; how it really just makes people more relaxed anyway, what's the problem?; how people don't understand the difference between X and Y strains; how the best way to store it is XYZ; how you could get REALLY good stuff back when I lived in Wherever; and on and on. And on. And on.
Anybody who is like that about anything annoys me. Making it worse with weed is, being around stoned people when you're not stoned is really unpleasant. (Ditto drunks.)

I heard this on a sports talk show this morning so I don't know if it's true (they didn't mention the source), but the host said that for the first time, more people are smoking marijuana than cigarettes.

One of my best friends' first wife was a chronic user of....chronic. She would brag about "waking and baking" and was probably high the vast majority of her waking hours. And, all she ever talked about was weed, and occasionally The Simpsons. And I think the weed affected her memory because when I'd see her (and this guy was my roommate before they got married so I saw her pretty much daily), she'd ask "When is The Simpson Movie coming out." I'd reply "July 27, 2007." Each. Time.

That wouldn't surprise me, considering we've had about 40 years now of very strong anti-cigarette messaging, the massive tobacco lawsuits of the late 90s, and more recently a trend toward vaping over smoking (for those who do smoke cigarettes); coupled obviously with the legalization of smoking marijuana in a lot of states, including several of the most populous ones (and correspondingly even more easily available weed where it's still illegal).
While I'm not going to pretend to be a doctor, I also would not be surprised if that's a healthier reality in the long term.

Sobriety talk.
I've known a few people--some who used to drink a lot but quit, others who never drank--who talk about their sobriety constantly. And it is every bit as annoying as people who talk about drinking or about weed! I actually had a colleague who used to talk about diet, exercise routines, and sobriety all the time. It was the devil's triangle of narcissistic annoying talk. "So I made some gluten-free, sugar-free Such-and-Such with my organic Whatever; and then I went for a run, though I only got in 5 miles because I'm going to do 12 tomorrow; and I have so much energy since I don't drink anymore. It's like, my body is so much better off now, and so I'm limiting my carbs, and then..."

YES. I don't really converse with anyone face to face about it, but I have a few FB friends (old HS classmates mostly) who have defeated addiction. And, good for them. But, oh my God, 95% of their posts are about "living with clarity" or "no longer have to imbibe" or whatever. It's funny how humans tend to go to extremes with things like alcohol.

I have another friend who quite literally almost died from alcohol abuse, and thank goodness, you'd never guess it talking to him. He never talks about sobriety at all.
Like you said, I hate to mention that to some degree, because it makes it seem I'm not sympathetic to the issue. Obviously I want people to live well, and addiction is obviously awful. Whatever can help people be happier and healthier, that's good. But just realistically, I'm probably not the friend for you if you want to talk nonstop about that topic, or any other single topic. You've gotta diversify!

Earlier in this thread, I mentioned a couple seasonal items - Peeps and Candy Corn.
But, here's one for the upcoming Christmas season. All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey. The internet / meme culture of the 2020s has seemingly decided that this song is apparently the most hated of all Christmas songs.
I'm no fan of Carey's work, so it feels a bit odd defending her here, but I never thought that song was terrible. Granted, it's way overplayed (as are about 30-40 other contemporary Christmas songs). But, it's pretty tolerable for one of her songs. It's a bit Spector-esque, and it doesn't feature one of her glass shattering squeals.
To me, a worse offender is a bit more recent - Kelly Clarkson's Underneath the Tree. This one feels like a ripoff of Carey's song, which makes it somehow more annoying.
And, let's be honest, there is no Christmas song worse than Christmas Shoes.
