The other board that we often post at has a thread so I thought I would bring one here. The great Ronnie Spector has passed away. Tears all around for all of us who adored her so. Wonder how Brian is feeling at the news and I know he and the Beach Boys must be saddened

I only just learned of it a little while ago when Sheriff John Stone posted it in the RIP thread. Considering how much re-learning the news of Jack Rieley seemed to rattle him in the Long Promised Road documentary, I'd suspect this hit him very hard.

Saw it on twitter a little while ago. I feel for Brian right now. A lot of people are recommending a listen to the Ronettes debut album "Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes Featuring Veronica." I've never listened to it in full, so tonight is as good a night as any to give it a spin.

Yeah my first question would be in the song I'm So Young do they do it in E like the students or E-flat like the Beach Boys. I recommend watching the three song set at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where Estelle didn't sing because she was not mentally healthy enough to do so but came on the stage for a final bow. It's quite tremendously powerful. Funny how the actress and singer Naya Rivera always reminded me a bit of Ronnie and now they're both gone. Maybe a diva off in heaven. quote author=" The Cincinnati Kid" source="/post/30243/thread" timestamp="1642030507"]Saw it on twitter a little while ago. I feel for Brian right now. In addition to all of those great Ronettes' songs, each year at Christmas, Ronnie will be back on the radio and in the malls and in our homes making the season brighter with the wonderful "Frosty The Snowman", "Sleigh Ride", and "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus".

Kapitan the song uses the old doo-wop ice cream chords and I know how to play it if it starts in E like the version of the students so that's E C sharp minor A & B flat. What are the ice cream chords if you start in D the way Ronnie does? Thanks. I learned baby I love you with Capo on Fret one and I'd like to learn this one too. The only way we can really honor those who have passed is to love them and play their music and keep them alive in our songs and in our hearts forever. I was lucky because I almost got into three accidents today while listening to The Ronettes on the various Los Angeles freeways with tears in my eyes so everybody be careful out there because losing Ronnie is really a blow. Is anybody else feeling this in this intense way or am I just a crazy anomaly Yeah my first question would be in the song I'm So Young do they do it in E like the students or E-flat like the Beach Boys. D, actually.

When I was a kid in the late 80s, my mother had the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing on cassette, and often had it playing the car when I'd join her for errands when school was out for summer. I remember Be My Baby was on it. Around the same time, Eddie Money had his big hit with Take Me Home Tonight, featuring Ronnie on guest vocals reprising her vocals from Be My Baby.

Here's another guest appearance by Ronnie (here from 1:19), on The Raveonettes' track "Ode To L.A.". This Danish duo's name is a corruption of Buddy Holly's "Rave On" and The Ronettes:
