Fantastic lineup. So glad to see the quality of this show remain so high.
Question for Matt I'd love you to consider asking: what were his impressions of / relationships with the other Beach Boys (core members especially, but also longtime sidemen) when he was exposed to them as a child? And as a follow-up, how did his increasing knowledge of the band's internal issues affect his relationships to them and their music, if at all? For example, once he understood there were "camps," or drug abuse issues, etc., did he even as a teenager or young man take sides, feel betrayed, feel hurt, feel confused? (It seems like it would be very hard to rise above it all and be objective, especially for a teen or young man.)

Another great show, guys! I hope you're preserving these podcasts (I'm sure you are) because the guests and the stories they are telling could/should/will be used down the road in various books or documentaries. You don't see a lot of interviews around with the participants you are attracting, but they definitely play(ed) a significant part in Beach Boys' history.

Matt J especially took some of those questions and ran with them, sometimes meandering a bit (which shows it runs in the family!) but providing a lot of good information and insights. It's great to see you're not pulling teeth in getting responses from guests, and clearly the guests agree so far. Hearing about him coming up through the ranks was quite interesting. (I've seen a few interviews with him, but not many, and typically not as long as this.)
And David shared some good stuff, too. It was fun hearing about how ASMTYD came together, as well as his nice stories about bringing his son to shows. (Stamos, American hero... )

Kapitan! Thank you so much - REALLY great question. He did mention in the interview, when he was young and just a roady, he could tell about Landy and his personality. Pretty interesting to catch on to that at a young age.

Just wish we were better interviewers - and I really mean that - we have so much more respect for people that do this for a living now that we are attempting it. I was really shocked by the story about Al and hearing the barnyard tapes - pretty crazy. The other story that sticks out to me is he and his dad recording with John Mayer out of nowhere. Thank you again for your support, and for watching the show. It means a lot!

(Stamos, American hero... ) Yeah David is a really great guy - he has been really fun to work with, and has a ton of stories from working with the guys. We are going to have him back on again this week to help us tackle Love You. Should be interesting! Thank you Kapitan!
