Hola! I've been posting over at Smiley Smile and someone recommended I check this forum out.
I'm a big music fan; I listen to a lot of different artists and genres, and I listen often.
I've been a fan of the Beach Boys since I was a kid. My parents got me a copy of the Best of the Beach Boys vol 2, and I played that tape so much over the years that it wore out. But I didn't become a hardcore fan until the SMiLE Sessions came out in 2012 and I absolutely fell in love with it. I've been obsessed with the boys and Brian's solo stuff ever since.
I'm also a beach bum, grew up on the Jersey Shore. But I don't surf, lol.

Hi, SNJ, and welcome (officially). We're a small select group of music fans with at least two metal heads among our number. I think there's a better opportunity for non-BB music conversation here than across the road.

What are some of your other musical favorites? We're glad you're here to chat Beach Boys, other music, or anything else. It's a pretty easy-going board where different opinions are welcome.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
You might be able to count me as another metalhead. I was really into NuMetal in the late 90's / early 2000's. Really loved, and still do, Korn, Sevendust, Slipknot, Systen of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Deftones, etc.
I grew up on 80's hard rock & hair metal though. Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, & AC/DC are some of my favorite bands to this day. Best show I've been to... Axl Rose fronting AC/DC on their Rock or Bust tour. I was front row center in Philly, and it was glorious. There is much shit talked about Axl's voice being shot.. but him singing those AC/DC sounds was out of this world. He sounding better than Brian Johnson imo.
I'm not a true metal head though, because I don't think that anything that isn't metal sucks. Lol. I listen and enjoy most rock & pop music, though I do gravitate more to the fast tempo stuff. Not a huge fan of folk rock.
I'm really into the McCartney solo stuff right now.

I'm not sure any of us would consider ourselves metalheads, despite jk's characterization! But KDS is more into hard rock and metal than any of us. And I, like you, grew up on it in the '80s and into the early '90s. In the past decade or so I've reclaimed that past (which I'd abandoned for a while).
As for the nu-metal, I'm afraid I don't like any of that stuff. But a lot of classic hard rock and metal, I'm up for discussing for sure, as well as classic pop/rock, indie rock and pop, jazz, blues, some country... So whatever you're into, feel free to toss it onto the board. Chances are somebody will be interested.

I don't know if I'm a metal head, since I'm pretty picky about metal. I'm not really into speed, death, or black metal. I listened to some nu metal in the late 90s / early 00s, but really don't anymore.

Lol, love that pic. Little known fact, Slash auditioned for Poison before joining Guns. They made him an offer but turned it down because he didn't want to ware eye liner & maskara.
