I never got around to listening to this last year, but I just listened today for the first time.
I must say, I found it to be an altogether pleasant listen. It's pretty short at 35 minutes. Much like Mike's Christmas album, the covers aren't going to replace the originals. The lone exception was that I think I preferred KTSA to the BB studio original. Summertime Blues is also better than the BB version, but that's not saying much.
California Beach and On and On and On (a sort of sequel to Do It Again) were pretty good songs.

I think this album is a lot better than people give it credit for. Not much autotune and a solid selection of songs. Rockaway Beach is standout track. From videos I've seen and the concert I attended, it's received just as well as Kokomo and Surfin' USA at the end of the show. On and On and On is really good and I like the new version of Surfin' Safari.

Sonically, it's probably the best sounding of Mike's recent run of solo albums.

Sonically, it's probably the best sounding of Mike's recent run of solo albums. On both counts, I think it depends. On some tracks the mastering seems off (e.g. too treble-y), the drums sound cheap (particularly the snare), and the use of autotune is very noticeable. On others, none of these are a problem. My main takeaway is probably that it's an inconsistent album. But, I prefer Mike in this sphere - as a rock 'n' roller. "Rockaway Beach" and "Summertime Blues" are good versions. "Girl From Ipanema" and "Here Comes The Sun" are solid - Mike sounds good on those. I also like "California Sun". Those are the highlights for me. Really, from "Here Comes The Sun" onward is pretty good (like a high '5' or low '6'), but the first half is rough. I prefer this album to Unleash The Love, slightly. 4/10

And at least he's mostly covering other artists, so the songs are new for him. And unlike any of the BB covers on the second disc of UTL, I do believe on of the BB covers improves on the original - KTSA.

Nope. Not doing it. I already listened to one Mike Love album this week. It would be weird to listen to 12 Sides of Summer on the Eve of Halloween anyway. Maybe Mike releases a Halloween album next year with a new version of Beach Boys live favorite The Monster Mash.

I haven't listened to this album in quite a while (aside from the tracks I mentioned in my original post), but I don't remember there being much autotuned. Sure, there's It's Ok, but that was one of the UTL outtakes if I remember correctly.
