Yeah, this one's hard, there are so many! Going with a Sloan twofer, because these two songs belong together and I rarely listen to one without the other.
Losing California...
...The Marquee and the Moon.

While we're waiting for TCK to leap into action (no hurry, sir!), here's one I must have heard hundreds of times since that first magical encounter on crackly French radio one evening in late-ish 1963. "Une disque très comique", they said. I was stunned rather than amused--what on earth? Like many others, no doubt, I'd never hear anything that raw before then. Sticking my neck out here, but I'd say The Kingsmen opened the floodgates for generations of bands who just needed pushing over the threshold. To quote Dave Marsh in his book about "Louie Louie" and its history, "It is the best of songs, it is the worst of songs". 'Nuff said. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louie_Louie

'Nuff said. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louie_LouieThat must be something like what made Zappa obsess over it. On one hand he was always almost mocking it ... on the other hand he inserted it into how many songs? Dozens, it must be.

12-year-old me was obsessed with this song and could not get enough of the video.

Bill Haley's "See You Later, Alligator" was definitely pre-teen (I'm very pleased to say). It's even pre-Elvis, come to think of it (a less pleasing thought):

I'll go with the first record I ever remember listening to - the "I Saw Her Standing There" 45 on the family record player.

Maybe my first favorite song (along with the liturgy of the Missouri Synod Lutheran hymnal ... I was weird), I used to sneak into my older sister's room to listen to her cassette of this when she was away.
