Rock and roll has been around a good long while. (Hell, it might be dead, as we've debated before.) As the generations pass, who are some musicians whose kids' music you like as well? Why? Is it because they're similar to the old man (or lady), or different altogether?
Not trying to be exhaustive by any means, but immediately these spring to mind as options for discussion:
Bob Dylan / Jakob Dylan Lowell George / Inara George
George Harrison / Dhani Harrison Waylon Jennings / Shooter Jennings
John Lennon / Julian and Sean Lennon Ravi Shankar / Norah Jones
Paul Simon / Harper Simon Loudon Wainwright / Rufus Wainwright
(I wasn't thinking so much of people who are basically sidemen, a la Zak Starkey, Matt Jardine, or Wolfgang Van Halen.)

Wilson Phillips!
That probably didn't deserve an exclamation mark. I liked the little string of hits they had in the 90s.

I like several of Nancy Sinatra's songs, and it has little to do with her father. Most of Nancy's biggest hits were completely different than Frank's. Nancy hooked up with Lee Hazlewood and employed a country/psychedelic feel with songs like "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'", "Sugar Town", "Summer Wine", "Some Velvet Morning", and "Jackson". Speaking of Frank, one of Nancy's biggest hits was a duet with her father on "Something Stupid", a song written by Van Dyke Parks' brother, C. Carson Parks. Also, both Nancy and Frank covered the Sonny Bono-penned song, "He (She) Shot Me Down".

"Some Velvet Morning" is such a strange compelling song. I'd say it was Lee Hazelwood's masterpiece. Another chip off the old block is Bono's son Elijah Hewson of the Irish band Inhaler: inhaler.band/home

Another old thread revived because...
...Jakob Dylan's band The Wallflowers are coming out with a new album this summer, Exit Wounds. The first song, "Roots and Wings," was debuted on Jimmy Kimmel last night. It's a nice enough song, pretty good. But ... who's playing the acoustic guitar I hear? I see three electric guitars and zero acoustic guitars. I wouldn't have pegged Jakob Dylan as a guy OK with playing to a track.

Maybe this would've been a better landing spot for my post about Mammoth WVH.
