Its done. The tree is down. The other decorations came down yesterday. Its amazing how different putting up the decorations feel compared to this joyless task. Now, the living room is without any seasonal decor for the first time since late September.
How many days 'til summer?

How many days 'til summer? In Minneapolis, maybe like a bazillion. (Or 90-100)

So I'm out on the road working, and at one of my stops I come across this young kid, about 18 years old, and he's playing music on one of those Bluetooth things. First he plays some AC/CD, then some Nirvana, and finally some Johnny Cash - from the Rick Rubin sessions! Now he has my attention. And, believe it or not, he goes into...The Doors. Well, it didn't take long before we struck up a conversation, initiated by me, and I asked him where he got that music. He said that his Dad gave it to him, that his Dad was a big music fan. Now, I'm sure you've all come across "big music fans" who really aren't if you know what I mean. Nevertheless, I asked this kid if he or his Dad would be interested in one of my favorite CD comps. He said "Sure" and I immediately got to work on a 1970's Rock & Roll comp.
Frankly, I want to blow this kid and his Dad away with stuff he MIGHT NOT know have or even heard. If he did, fine. I want to stay away from some, but not all of, the popular songs. If - if - his dad is a big music fan, chances are he heard the more obscure album cuts, too. Anyway, I have a question, actually two questions for you all. I have most of the comp done, but I can't decide on two groups or more specifically, two group's songs. Specifically, what KISS song and what Led Zeppelin song would you put on a comp to impress/enlighten/blow away an old music fan and his 18 year-old son?

Tough one, SJS, not knowing what they like or what else you’ve got on the comp. And it’s always tricky trying to introduce lesser-known stuff, too, in that often it’s lesser known for a reason! (For every 1 unknown gem there are many more that are unknown because they’re obviously inferior to the hits!) But you didn’t ask to hear excuses. So… Zep: I’d go with either “Ramble On” or “Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman).” Neither is some obscure track, but both are far less well known than Zeppelin’s bigger classic radio hits. I like that “Ramble On” shows some of the band’s reach with both that softer, mostly acoustic section and the heavy refrain; and “Living Loving…” is just a great, underrated rocker. KISS: that’s a can of worms. I think it’s tough to sell anyone new on KISS in adulthood. For that reason, I’d probably pick something that’s in their classic rock and roll, power pop, or “heavy Beatles” vein instead of their proto-metal or more lascivious veins. My initial thoughts are “Let Me Go, Rock and Roll,” “Tomorrow and Tonight,”

For Zeppelin, I'd chose Down By the Seaside. It's a light and shade masterpiece.
If you want to get a little deeper, include some cuts by UFO, Rainbow, or 70s era Scorpions.

I shouldn't be inside on the computer, I should be outside going for a walk. It's going to be in the 60's today in Central Pennsylvania. In the middle of January!

Woke up to a nuclear hazard alert on my phone this morning. It has since come out that the alert was sent out in error and there is no radiological hazard event to worry about. I don't live within the 10km evacuation zone surrounding the power plant, but 60 km still feels too close to home and the unease continues. Definitely not my favourite way to wake up on a Sunday morning.

I actually live about 20 miles from the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant near Harrisburg, PA, and was sitting in the library at the Penn State Capitol Campus - about 100 yards away from the TMI towers - when the near-meltdown occurred in March 1979. So, I understand what you're feeling.
BTW, the TMI plant was officially closed in September 2019.

Took the little one to the park yesterday morning and this morning, and the unseasonable warmth made for ideal weather at the Ravens game (results notwithstanding). I have chicken marinading in the fridge. I was planning to bake it, but I might fire up the grill.

You were AT the Ravens' game? Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Then, the game started. Good for you. I've been to several professional sporting events overs the years (including golf ), but I don't think I ever attended any kind of "playoff game".

I think my only major league playoff experience live were home games in the 1997 Wolves v. Rockets (as a student reporter) and the 2002 Wolves v. Mavs (as a fan). Both series were 0-3 losses, by the way.
