I first saw Paul in 2002. The ticket was a gift from my folks for my impending college graduation.
I'm seriously considering seeing him in Baltimore in June, especially since that happens to be three days prior to the Ringo show I have tickets to. Two Beatles in a week?

Too bad Ringo is playing in Rhode Island the same night Paul is in Baltimore. They are both going to be in the Northeast at the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if Ringo makes an appearance at a Paul concert. Perfect opportunity to perform/promote "Get Back" - with that distinctive drumbeat! I haven't been to a major concert in almost 10 years. I had tickets for the Brian Wilson tour that was cancelled due to mental illness. And I had tickets for a Ringo concert for this upcoming tour but that got cancelled because the venue won't be re-opened in time. I was really bummed about that. I've never seen Ringo (or Brian) in concert, and I just wanted to see them once. I've had my opportunities, though. I'm just very picky about the date and venue and, generally, I just don't get very excited about going to concerts. That said, the drought should be coming to an end next month as I have tickets to see Graham Nash.

It seems Paul forgot about the interior of the country and is instead just looping around it like a giant U. (He could have at least made a giant O, which might have come near me...)
Of course, he's been here before and I've never gone, so that's on me. In hindsight, I wish I'd seen him maybe 15 years ago or so, when he was still closer to the top of his game. (I'd go back further, but let's be honest, I didn't have the money for tickets if you go back 20 or more years.) Now as he's up there in years, I regret it somewhat. Of his approximate generation, I've seen Brian Wilson (including Al, Blondie, and David at different times), Al Jardine solo, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Van Dyke Parks...that's it, I think. (I also saw Prince several times and U2 once, but they'd be the next generation.)
After that, I think overwhelmingly I've seen artists whose heydays were from the late 90s through the mid 00s. Which, of course, is roughly what you'd guess for somebody my age. But still, it would be good to catch Sir Paul.
When I saw Paul in 2005 and 2011, he sounded FANTASTIC! I'm really grateful to have seen him twice and Tom Petty twice (2005 and 2006).

I do need to contact the box office to ensure my 2020 tickets will work for the 2022 date. When it was re-rescheduled last year, it was assured the tickets would be honored, but Ringo's tour announcement is listing them as it they're new dates.

I've never seen any Beatles in concert. The closest I've come was seeing Billy Preston back in 2005 (about a year before he passed). Does Joey Molland count? The ticket prices for big name acts started going through the roof around the time Paul and Ringo became active touring artists: the most I've ever paid for a show was Michael Nesmith about 10 years ago, cost me $50. Was it worth it? Actually, it was, because it was a small theater, and I wasn't watching him on a video screen. And it was Nez doing his own music, not trying to relive the Monkees. These big name acts living off their past kind of remind me of old timers games. It's mostly about the opportunity say "I saw Willie Mays play" "I was in the same room as Brooks Robinson" "I got to shake hands with Ken Griffey". I'll go see Mike's Beach Boys this year because it will only put me out $30.

I think the cooler part is that he played "Getting Better," "You Never Give Me Your Money," and "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window"!

Wow, surprisingly, that hit me hard. Even knowing it was coming. (There are full length videos up on youtube, if interested.)

I think the cooler part is that he played "Getting Better," "You Never Give Me Your Money," and "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window"! Speaking of the setlist, I'm sure lonelysummer will greatly appreciate this: Paul plays solo material...including recent solo material. Check it out: McCartney III (2020): "Women and Wives" Egypt Station (2018): "Come On To Me" and "Fuh You" New (2013): "Queenie Eye" Kisses On The Bottom (2012): "My Valentine" Memory Almost Full (2007): "Dance Tonight" Also, "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Live and Let Die", "Junior's Farm", "Band on the Run", "Let Me Roll It", "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five", "Letting Go", and "Here Today". You may think, "hey, he ought to perform even more solo songs, like my personal favorites x, y, and z!" Now, I don't know about you, but if I wrote "Yesterday" I'm performing it!! (Which, by the way, there apparently wasn't room for last night, along with a bunch of other hits - both Beatles and solo.)

That must be the highest percentage of new or recent material in his shows since the days of Off the Ground and Flowers in the Dirt. It's pretty much a given that the bulk of his show will be Beatles songs, and a few Wings hits. I have to wonder if any of the Long Promised Road songs will make it into Brian's setlists this summer? I don't think I will be seeing any headliner type acts this year. The pandemic seems to have caused another bump in tickets prices, so even acts I could see a couple years ago for $35-40 are up to $60-70 now. As much as I love live music, I guess I'd rather spend my money on something I can hold, like some new vinyl, cd's, or a good hooker.

Thanks for sharing that. Not to appear greedy - I appreciate Paul doing that - but I kinda wish/think he should be playing bass for that song. It just seems...appropriate.

I think I'd be slightly disappointed (frustrated?) that Paul played that many newer songs. I want ALL classics! I've noticed the last couple of tours that Paul has been leaving out two of my all-time favorites - "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Jet". They used to be mainstays; maybe he just got tired of performing them.

I'm sure Paul realized many decades ago: he's not going to please everyone no matter what he chooses to play. Whatever he leaves out, somebody will want him to have included it, and vice versa. There is no right answer other than doing what he thinks best.
lonelysummer per your question, I wouldn't expect Wilson to focus on any of those songs, necessarily, since the album was just a hodge-podge soundtrack to the documentary, not really a real album. But he may well continue doing "Long Promised Road," which he's been doing for a few years. "It's OK" is another he's been doing. He has previously done "Honeycomb" and "I'm Broke," but especially the latter seems unlikely considering what it would make him try to do vocally.

I've heard/read this story several times, but it's fun to hear Paul tell it:
