Hopefully someone takes him to task for his claims about Mike. About? I didn't go into detail because I couldn't remember what it was about! On SS he made some not so good claims about Mike and later claimed he couldn't publish them because Mike threatened to sue. Maybe someone else here remembers what that was about.

No. That was a second home, his main house, was still in Los Angeles.

No. That was a second home, his main house, was still in Los Angeles. I never said it was his main house, just that he lived there. And, he lived there.

@piedpiper: Seriously. Participation can be real contributions and pleasant exchanges if you want it. As I said in early May:
Feel free to chime in on occasion with substantial thoughts rather than just parachuting in for corrections, nitpicks, and pedantry, too, PiedPiper. You're very welcome to do bust out of your niche and into actual participation. We'd all enjoy that. The trend of your posting is pretty clear.
We want--really, really want!--members to post more, and more members to join and post more. That would be wonderful. But to stick almost exclusively to corrections (or apparent corrections that aren't, e.g. this last one) of usually insignificant points is no way to be part of a community, or to build community.
Please stay. Please participate. But please reconsider your style. I have no authority whatsoever. I'm just asking you.

The Rocky Pamplin radio interview begins around 1 hour, 5 minutes on the radio show found here:
EDIT: It lasts about 20 minutes, and is uninterrupted in terms of songs, ads, etc. Rocky does almost all of the talking, and he shares some anecdotes about his time with Brian. (I laughed when he said that they found out Brian enjoyed going to play basketball because Brian liked dribbling. Was terrible at all other aspects of the game, but liked dribbling.)
I'm not one to speak for the truthfulness of Pamplin's claims, of course.
There were some obvious untruths, like that by the time he was hired, Brian had been mostly in bed for almost a decade. (That's nearly a quote.) Obviously, the "Brian didn't get out of bed" story is a dramatic exaggeration that at various times has gone from "Brian spends many days mostly in bed during the early '70s" to "Brian Wilson didn't get out of bed for a decade." There is a difference.
But frankly that comment was not a central point, it was more a passing comment on evidence of why/how Brian needed help. And was Pamplin lying? Did he mean it literally? Does he even know (having not known Brian before that time and so basing this on what he had heard)? Not a huge deal to me. But certainly not true.

Thanks for the link, Kapitan. That was easy and now we can all listen to it.
I have mixed feelings on the whole Stan & Rocky experiment (and have expressed some in the If In 1975 thread ). According to what has been published in books through the years - and who knows exactly what is and isn't accurate - Rocky does have some credibility and recollection issues. But, somewhere in there is a very fascinating story, or dare I say a fascinating book. Whether you're a fan of "kiss and tell" books filled with sensationalism or don't want any part of them, Rocky was there, and he was there at maybe the most sleazy and decadent period in Brian's life and the group's career. Not only was he there but he was directly influencing Brian Wilson's life, and not a lot of people can speak about THAT.
I haven't read Rocky's book. I've seen excerpts, read message board posts from Rocky and co-author (Ron), and now I've heard this interview. If Rocky would've been fact-checked, if the timeline would've been better researched, and if Rocky could've/would've(?) told his story in a more believable manner and in a less "I did this, I did that" way, this book had the potential to be one of the better BB/BW books.

That's what you said and, you are wrong. Anyway, I'm not feeling welcome here by you, probably I'll leave or, at least stop posting. The same few three people post all the time. It gets boring, seeing the same names again, and again.

Anyone remember this? Bubs posted this hilarious spoof "segment" from Rocky's bio years ago at another forum but it's too good not to reproduce on an occasion like this: Segment 9: Just Desserts We drove to the Luau when Def Leppard came on the radio, and we started punching each other in the car to the beat. The first one to bleed lost... Brian bit my shoulder, so I punched him in the nose. There was a lot of blood on the floor of the car so we called it even. "I'll get you next time" I said to Brian. Brian laughed. "Have I told you about how much I hate Dennis?" I asked him. The car stopped and we were at the Luau. "Time for food, boys!" Marilyn trilled. "I bet they have a lot of food here" Brian said to me softly. We got inside and started throwing dollar bills in the air... Brian told me that I'm a cool guy, and I told him that I knew that. I flexed a little bit. We walked to the maître d'hôtel and asked for a table. He told me the tables were full, so I told him that I could beat him up. He said "Wha-Ooh" and rushed to find us a table. We followed him while yelling at other people trying to eat because we were strong men and we beat people with fist. There wasn't any werewolves here. Finally, the stupid waiter found us a table. BUT THE TABLE HE FOUND US WAS NEXT TO MIKE. I heard a deep, guttural scream from Brian that I had never heard before or since. "p*ssy alert!" Brian screamed. "You know what I do to pussies?" I took a karate pose to show we meant business, and Brian smashed a wine bottle against the edge of the table. "I STAB PUSSIES," Big B yelled, forcing veins and tendons to push against the skin of his neck. That's when Brian ran over to Mike and shoved the jagged edge underneath his jawline, sending him to the floor. Mike was crying in a pool of his blood, so we high-fived each other a bunch. Then we high-fived more. Marilyn was pretty into it. Brian sat down and tried to order, but I picked him up and held him over my head and ran a block down the street. "What about my grasshopper," Brian asked between bounces. Stan was running after us yelling about how he stole Mike's hat and that he might have died or something. I don't know. I'm too strong for emotions. I placed Brian down on the pavement, but then decided to pick him back up again because lifting him was a good workout. "How many reps are you doing," Stan asked. "Probably, like, a thousand," I puffed. We got back to Brian's house and drank all of his liquor while he sat in a chair and stared us. "You did double good today, Bri-dawg" I belched. Brian smiled. "Maybe I do good tomorrow, too?" "We'll see."

The same few three people post all the time. It gets boring, seeing the same names again, and again. Note for our lurking members and any guests: we same few--though a few more than three!--people agree.
We would dearly love for more participation from more people. Everyone willing to show other posters respect will always, absolutely be welcomed into this community.

Anyway, I'm not feeling welcome here by you, probably I'll leave or, at least stop posting. The same few three people post all the time. It gets boring, seeing the same names again, and again. This is the last thing I'm going to say on this matter. I saw this article (including some great pictures) about Brian's old home being on the market again. To me, whether the home was his main residence or a second home was irrelevant. Who knows and who cares how much actual time Brian spent in his respective houses. I am always looking for material to post on our forum that might be of interest to someone. Instead of just posting a link and leaving it at that, I thought I would add an intro, hoping it might spur even more interest. The article stated (I'm assuming correctly) that Brian owned the home from 2008 to 2012, which would correspond to the years when he released That Lucky Old Sun, Reimagines Gershwin, and In The Key Of Disney. So, I thought I would add that to my intro to the link.
I appreciate accuracy in posting on message boards, and I think I have a pretty record in that area. I don't mind being corrected when I post something inaccurate. Please, members, come on the board and correct me. I welcome any posts right now! But for somebody to come onto the board to make an issue out of the intro (I wasn't trying to make some dramatic, controversial point), to make an issue out of how much time Brian spent there, and to debate whether or not recording sessions took place for an album while he owned the home, well...all I can say is best wishes and good luck to you.

A short clip of Jeff Foskett promoting Billy Hinsche's podcast. Thoughts and prayers for Jeff and hoping he is responding well to his treatments:
