Best - The Night Before - One of my favorite mid 60s Paul songs
Worst - Again, there are no bad songs (as it common with this group), but I'll go with You're Gonna Lose That Girl.

This one was tough, because we're into the era when it seems almost all of the songs are great (or at least good).
Best: Ticket to Ride. One of a few iconic songs on the album, it's got almost everything I'd want: cool guitar riff, fantastic melody, great vocals including harmonies, catchy as hell. But I could have gone with the title track, The Night Before, or You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, too.
Worst: I Need You. The most average/mediocre one of the bunch, in my book. I'm not a fan of the volume-pedal effect on the guitar, really. I could see where at the time, it was novel and worth trying. But it doesn't strike me as effective now. Plus the song itself is just so-so.

Help! The Night Before You've Got to Hide Your Love Away I Need You Another Girl Ticket to Ride You're Gonna Lose That Girl
This is impossible! I just want you know that my vote for WORST SONG has nothing to do with it being a bad song. Nothing at all. I like them all. It's just that I hadve to choose one. Sorry Beatles.
BEST SONG: "Ticket To Ride" or "The Night Before". It's so close but I'll go with "Ticket To Ride" because it sounds like a more "realized" song or production. There are more cool parts that stand out. But, again, that's not a slight on "The Night Before" which is a great song.
WORST SONG: "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" or "I Need You". The lyrics to "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" are so cutting and biting and really resonate; they carry the song for me. "I Need You" also has good lyrics and a great melody. Damn...I guess my vote goes to "I Need You", but just barely.

I know it's not the BEST song, but I love "I Need You". The George songs always stood out for me. Worst? Probably "Another Girl" - and again, it's a cool song, but for me, the most disposable. It's too bad neither the UK or USA versions contain "I'm Down".

Okay, let's get out of soundtrack hell (we'll return to it a little later) and move on to one of the Fabs most highly acclaimed albums, Rubber Soul. I've Just Seen a Face Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) You Won't See Me Think For Yourself The Word Michelle It's Only Love Girl I'm Looking Through You In My Life Wait Run For Your Life Attachments:

Okay, this thread has fallen off a cliff. Very hard to narrow it down to just one favorite from this album. I'm gonna go with Girl, because it's one I sing at all my shows, but it could easily be Michelle (my ex-girlfriend), The Word, Think For Yourself, Wood... Least favorite? Probably Run For Your Life. Or You Won't See Me.

Yeah, I'll throw the butcher cover in here, too - probably the most popular Capitol album. It's not one of my favorite Beatles albums - kind of a dumping ground for my least favorite Beatles recordings. Drive My Car, Yesterday, Act Naturally, What Goes On. None of those are favorites. Balancing that out, though, are fabulous tracks like If I Needed Someone, And Your Bird Can Sing, Day Tripper, We Can Work it Out, Nowhere Man. Others are kind of in the middle - Dr. Robert, I'm Only Sleeping, and....I guess that's it. Attachments:

WORST SONG: Probably "Girl". I just never cared for it. There's a couple more, maybe "The Word" (sorry jk ). I'm not a fan of Rubber Soul. Overrated IMO.

We're getting a bit closer to the catalog with which I'm more familiar.
Best - In My Life - One of my all time favorite Lennon compositions.
Worst - Run For Your Life - Least best.

Tough one to choose either best or worst. While I wasn't familiar with the track list of this version, there are still mostly just great songs from top to bottom. It's odd, but in a way really fitting, to start with "I've Just Seen a Face" instead of "Drive My Car."
Best: I've Just Seen a Face I could have gone any number of directions, and honestly there isn't some overwhelming reason I went this one. I could just as well have taken Norwegian Wood, You Won't See Me, In My Life, I'm Looking Through You, It's Only Love...
Worst (which is a relative term in this case!): Think For Yourself It's fine, but just not my favorite among these great songs. Cool use of fuzz bass, though.

Now we are talking! Great album. It also contains one of my all time favorite songs which is … Best - In My Life - one of my top ten of songs ever. Worst - Run For Your Life - So forgettable - I forgot it was on this album! I actually forgot it existed. Then after listening to it - I could see why. Also - my choices match those of kds!

I have to admit the lyrics to Run For Your Life turn me off. "I'd rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man"? I know it's borrowed from "Baby, Let's Play House," but of all the ideas to hang on to... Otherwise, I actually like the song itself quite a bit.
