Thanks, SJS, I don't believe I've ever seen that!
Where is Scott Bennett? I'm assuming he's there because there is both a prominent piano and a prominent organ, and Brian doesn't appear to be actually playing either. Darian, also almost entirely missing from the camerawork, is presumably playing one or the other. And one would assume Scott on the other one.
They all look so young...

At the 1:50 mark you can briefly see Darian playing a keyboard. I'm assuming Scott Bennett is somewhere behind/next to Darian. It's funny that the camera never scanned over there. There's also a lot of voices on the harmonies that you can hear but can't see. This is an excellent version of "The First Time"; it sounds almost exactly like the record. I always liked "The First Time", even when it was booted as "In The Night Time". It's a really cool song.

bellbottoms, it's interesting you singled out "Back Home" as a favorite because it's one of my disappointments on the album. In the late 1970's when Brian performed "Back Home" with The Beach Boys, it rocked. The Roxy version/arrangement seems to drag to me.
There is so much rocking potential in that song and I think they definitely could have taken the Roxy version a little further, but I still love it. I think the Roxy version of Back Home is so much more satisfying to me than the 50 Big Ones version and the earlier version because it does just have a little extra punch to it compared to those two. The studio versions sound a little flat to me (even though I do like Brian’s singing on the 50 Big Ones version). But I think Brian sings so well on the Roxy version, he sounds enthusiastic, plus his spoken intro puts a smile on my face. Isn’t that a good beat? Yes it is!
