It's a bit on the somber side, but here is a song by Jim Babjak of the Smithereens. It's got a classic 1960s sound, which is always good in my book.

I've been listening to the Beach Boys related Christmas albums. The other day, I listened to both Brian's and Mike's back to back, and it struck me that Jeff Foskett is doing the falsetto on both Little Saint Nick remakes.

I thought Foskett had moved down a bit in the harmony stack with Eichenberger generally on the falsetto parts. But I don't have that album, and definitely wouldn't claim to know for sure, though the "run run reindeer" part sounds more like Eichenberger to me than Foskett. The Wiki entry has them both involved in the album, but isn't track-specific.

I just heard the Stack-o-Tracks version of “Little Saint Nick” on whatever Christmas station they have on at work!

I really dislike both songs, but for distinctly different reasons. I really don't see a case here.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is getting the boxed set treatment!
CRAFT RECORDINGS ANNOUNCES DEFINITIVE, SUPER DELUXE EDITION OF A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS - Concord
Craft Recordings proudly announces a definitive, bonus-filled edition of Vince Guaraldi’s timeless score from the beloved, 1965 animated PEANUTS® special, A Charlie Brown Christmas, from Charles Schulz and Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez. While the album has remained a holiday staple for nearly 60 years (not to mention the best-selling jazz album of all time, alongside Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, after earning 5x platinum certification by the RIAA in May), this latest edition showcases Guaraldi’s creative process like never before, thanks to hours of newly unearthed session tapes from Fantasy Records’ vaults. Now, fans can experience cues like “Christmas Time Is Here,” “O Tannenbaum,” and “Skating” as they take shape in the studio through dozens of previously unreleased alternate tracks.

Wow, as much as I enjoy that soundtrack, that'll be a little rich for my blood. I might check out some of it, should it be on Spotify after Thanksgiving.

Wow, as much as I enjoy that soundtrack, that'll be a little rich for my blood. I might check out some of it, should it be on Spotify after Thanksgiving. A Charlie Brown Christmas is essential Christmas music listening, but as much as I love it, I don't think I'm interested in multiple takes of each song. The Deluxe Edition (Single CD) looks pretty good. It only has a few alternate takes (hopefully the best ones) and it includes "Jingle Bells" which has never been released.

At the very least, I'll give Jingle Bells a listen. There's a version of the soundtrack on Spotify (I assume it also has a tangible release) that includes the main suites from the Great Pumpkin and the CB Thanksgiving as bonus tracks. Even though they're not Christmas tracks, it's pretty cool that they're available.
