It's mentioned in Wikipedia which you linked, but "Video Killed The Radio Star" was the first video ever shown on MTV back in August 1981. I didn't particularly care for the song back then, but it has grown on me through the years.

Heard this while on a brief holiday in London. I was unaware of this gorgeous 1983 #8 UK hit until just a few years ago, when it was in the final episode of a heart-warming/heartbreaking BBC series about a gay commune in London that was torn apart by the arrival of AIDS: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rip_It_Up_(Orange_Juice_song)

Heard this while on a brief holiday in London. As for live performances, how about this incredible guitarist we heard in Trafalgar Square last week? Here is mex.fS (Joe) at the same place three years earlier:

The last song I could identify during our recent mini-holiday was one I hadn't heard in at least 30 years. I've never heard the original but Simply Red's take on "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)" is just fine with me: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money%27s_Too_Tight_(to_Mention)
