Well hopefully he stays healthy for you! That's his biggest problem, historically. But he is definitely one of the most fun-to-watch running backs we've had ... and we've had a few.
Most exciting Viking running backs of my memory:
1. Adrian Peterson, though the final few years really soured me on him. Early on, though ... my goodness. 2. Robert Smith, such remarkable breakaway speed. Our NFC championship game season in 98 or whatever, he was unreal. 3. Michael Bennett, usually forgotten because he wasn't around long. But he was a freak. 4. Herschel Walker didn't produce the way we expected, but just knowing his talent made him exciting!
The other end of the list...
Terry Allen put up numbers when he got to play, but my gosh he was dull. Roger Craig (remember he was here in the early Dennis Green era!) didn't even put up numbers. Chester Taylor. Just punch me in the face.
I'd like to add another exciting Viking RB to your list. This was a little before your time but back in the mid-1970's, Chuck Foreman was one of the best running backs in the league. Chuck was not only an elusive runner, but he was one of the first backs to catch a lot of passes. He was a multi-weapon and ahead of his time. Today, every running back is expected to be a receiver, too.

Oh, Chuck Foreman's reputation definitely lasted through my childhood, even though I didn't get to watch him play. I was fortunate enough to see his son, Jay Foreman. He played high school ball locally and then went on to play at Nebraska in the late '90s before a decent NFL career of almost a decade. Definitely not as good as his old man, though.

I'm a sucker for that old NFL Films music composed and conducted by the late, great Sam Spence.

Yes! NFL Films was fantastic. Growing up, their work made the game seem to be of mythic proportions, the stuff of legend. The music, the narration, and just fabulous, slow-motion game film ... that's all I need to be a happy man.

The Vikings suck. The Gophers suck. When’s basketball season?

But SJS, at least you’re getting something out of it with Cook’s 75-yarder.

On another Vikings-related note, I'm also in a "pick the winner of every game" NFL pool, and I picked the Vikings to beat Green Bay. It's not over yet.

My gosh, that might have been a bad choice...
This is SO FRUSTRATING. I am giving serious thought to just going outside and reading on the patio rather than watching. I suspect I'll at least begin the second half in front of the TV, but I don't know if I can last unless they play better. Cousins is just terrible. The OL is terrible. Diggs has at least two drops. The defense stepped up in the second quarter, but has still been pretty bad. (Really Harrison Smith has stepped up. Others, not so much.)
Lamar Jackson is doing great things for KDS yet again, though. I'm jealous. How about an in-game trade?

I might adopt the Ravens this season. I love Lamar Jackson and I hate--HATE--Kirk Cousins.

Any Pittsburgh Steelers' fans out there? Ben Roethlisberger is having elbow surgery and is out for the year. What were the odds of losing Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, and now Ben Roethlisberger (at least for the year) in a matter of months?

But, seeing Pittsburgh without the "Killer Bs" doesn't exactly ruin my day.

The rise of Lamar Jackson has been a lot of fan to watch, especially since he has so many doubters in Baltimore.

First, thank you, Dalvin Cook who helped me win a couple bucks last week in FF. Second, no thank you to Case Keenum who probably cost me a game (I picked Minnesota to win) with his ill-advised pass with first and goal and a chance to take the lead late in the game.
Yes, Lamar Jackson has been impressive, but in the words of Bill Parcels, and I'm paraphrasing - let's wait a little longer before we put him in the Hall Of Fame.

Well, yeah, he hasn't played a full season yet, but his first nine starts in the NFL have been a lot of fun. And his passing game and pocket presence is far better than last season.
