Thats been the rumor (him or JVG) since the Rose news. I’ll say this, he could churn out 48-52 wins with the 7-8 players in the league who like him before they break down or revolt. But he’d get them into the playoffs.

I'd stick with Mike Miller for the rest of the season. He's 15-24 as the Knicks head coach (Fizdale was 4-18!). Unless our roster changes significantly for the better, I'm not sure I'd want to bring in a high profile coach.

This season I’m sure they’ll leave it alone, but in the offseason I’m sure they’ll want to bring in their own—this being the Knicks, probably high profile—coach.

With a win over Chicago, the Wolves won two consecutive games for the first time in more than a month. It’s a small thing, but a nice thing. That said, why must we always win right when it’s meaningless and time to tank?

Did anybody see this Richard Jefferson/Tim Duncan thing? Is Jefferson just trying to get attention - or commit career suicide?

Regarding the Wolves after their recent moves, as much as I hate allowing myself even the slightest optimism (for fear of being hurt AGAIN) … I have to admit I do think the moves were good ones. The team has, if nothing else, been playing with tremendous energy since the trades. While that ought not be worth even mentioning (because you’d think it would be a given), it has been very, very noticeable. It used to be that you’d notice Robert Covington because he was flying around the court, really going all-out, with guys like Teague, Wiggins, and even KAT more or less picking and choosing their spots. (To be fair, Josh Okogie was also always “on ten.”) Now, Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, and James Johnson especially have been really energizing. D’Angelo Russell is more an under-control kind of player, but he is still working. Holdovers like Naz Reid, Jarrett Culver, Jordan McLaughlin, and Kelan Martin have turned it up. The best compliment is that Okogie no longer seems like an outlier (though he still might lead the pack on hyperactivity … the guy won’t quit). And the team finally is capable not just of shooting 3s, but hitting 3s. Big difference! Unfortunately KAT has been out most of the time since the deadline, and I can’t imagine they’re going to rush him back. So sadly he isn’t participating in this, and we aren’t seeing whether he is going to be a leader and a defensive force rather than a pouty offensive star. (It feels like Johnson is the real team leader right now.) With some good fortune in terms of health and a productive offseason—both Beasley and Hernangomez are restricted free agents, which was why Denver was willing to part with them to begin with—I really think this team could be a playoff team next year.

Brooklyn and Kenny Atkinson "mutually agreed to party ways." Pretty surprising to me considering they are a 7 seed right now and they've lost key players for much of the season (Durant missed 62 of 62; Kyrie missed 42 of 62; Caris LeVert missed 25 of 62; Wilson Chandler missed 29 of 62.)
Jacque Vaughn will coach out the season.

Nets at Warriors tomorrow will be in front of an empty arena. First domino of many, one suspects.
