I need to delve into that Bruce album more.
I've really been on a BOC kick since their new album was released last month.

I've been going through Supergrass's albums. Yes, they're generally known only for their one Britpop-era megahit, "Alright". But the four and a half albums I've heard so far are consistently good throughout. This is the curious closing track from their 1995 debut I Should Coco. "Time To Go" is in F but the bass is playing in C, almost BW-style: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Should_Coco

Listened 1st time to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird". Didn't enjoy tardy start with stupid "frog-speaking" guitars. That entire bit is stupid (as bad as overrated "Sweet Home Alabama"👹). It then switched tempo to fast, switched to cool jam with drums & electric guitars. 2/10.
Listened 1st time to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas" - super festive, catchy, jolly.🤡🥳 10/10. Read thru youtube comments that it's played literally in each shop, cafe in U.S. during Christmas season - you lucky peeps.😎💪👊

Listened to 1st time Santana Ft. Rob Thomas "Smooth" - 👎, hate latin music. 0/10.
Listened to 1st time Bee Gees "I Started Joke" - Wow it's beautiful, figured again vocals by Barry but, refreshingly, Robin sings it.👍 Aka THE best Bee Gees sibling singer. Beautiful melody with brilliant backing track. Shout-out to Bee Gees. 10/10.

If you like "I Started A Joke" you may also like "Holiday" (and the rest of their first album):

Not so much recently as right now. And not as inspiration to write a "fairy tale" EP or anything. Just because it's great. Randy Newman's Sail Away.

Paul and Linda McCartney - Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey One of my favorite Paul McCartney solo songs. Whenever I hear it, I think of a mix of SMiLE, Cool Cool Water, and I Get Around. I often wonder if Paul was directly channeling those songs. I've never seen an interview where he mentioned it. And, surprisingly, he has rarely (if ever?) performed "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" live. I think it would work, especially later in his career when technology could've assisted.

Ram is a strong candidate for my favourite solo Beatle album, such a great collection of songs. This is some of Paul's best compositions in my opinion... This used to be true for me, too: Ram and Plastic Ono Band were my two favorites. Over the years I've actually moved toward the maybe cliched opinion of preferring the more celebrated Band on the Run and Imagine best. But to be honest, I rarely listen to any Beatle solo albums (recent McCartney project aside) these days.

Ram is a strong candidate for my favourite solo Beatle album, such a great collection of songs. This is some of Paul's best compositions in my opinion... And Linda's backing vocals are so so good Ram is my favorite Paul solo album, and 4th favorite Beatles solo album (following Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, and All Things Must Pass). All 10s, in my book. Not only are the compositions of Ram great, but the arrangements and performances, too. As SJS alluded to, I think the Brian Wilson/Beach Boys influence on the Beatles is probably more evident on Ram than anywhere else. Back to the compositions, I like every song...a lot. My two favorites are "Smile Away" and "Too Many People", but I rate everything an '8' or above. That's not true of his other albums of this era (nor what came after, for that matter). McCartney had "Kreen-Akrore", Wild Life had "Bip Bop", Red Rose Speedway had "Loup (1st Indian on the Moon)", and Band On The Run had "Bluebird". And, those are just the true lowlights. I'd estimate there's about a dozen other tracks on those albums, in total, that I enjoy less than anything on Ram. To top it off, Ram's got more songs than any of those other albums.

I wish I had a great answer. I think the most honest one is that at the time (turn of the century), the overwhelming consensus was that Band on the Run and Imagine were the best McCartney and Lennon ever did. I at that time was a pretentious prick and more or less immediately rejected the consensus picks for everything--I regularly called things that were popular by-definition terrible, since I wholly disrespected people in general--and so I applied my tastes at the time to anything other than popular things.
It's a stupid approach, but over the years I think it's more common than people would care to believe. A large number of people like things because they are popular. A certain number dismiss those things for the same reason. Both approaches are silly and performative.

Wow J5 is Gary IN native like the twins! Shout-out to Rodney, guy who requested this song to the channel. Didn't hear it, it's "1st time hearing" too, little Michael sings with such cool kid voice. Duh, ofc he would.😎💪 The goat.👊 & as usual, twins' reaction is cool & funny. Btw, reading comments, smb. replied "I'm fellow *hoosier*". Went to check its definition - wow, discovered new phrase - it's people born in Indiana.
India reacts (girl's name India, albeit she's married lady with 3 kids) is my fave music reactor next to twins. She's highly likeable, positive, pretty smile, got the best song intros to each vid she drops, good speaker. She reacted to this J5 song that didn't hear as well. Here, Michael grew & sings with adult voice that we're used to. Really groovy song, it ain't surprise that he's lead singer, not to mention he's THE best-looking Jackson sibling/boy. AND he dances the best.😎

Thanks jk to like previous cool music reply.😎 Jolly Christmas.🌲👊🥳 Going back to twins who cheer up with their funny cute reactions (besides fact I get to hear 1st time with them new songs by new people) - this song is really good. 8/10 good. Never listened to Huey Lewis/The News till recently. Main singer's voice is really-really cool (fits his face/style). Can't stand husky voices usually but I like his type of husky (I believe there's few types of husky, I frankly like when girl singers possess husky voices, not everytime but imo it's cooler when girls sing like it). Harmonies in song shine. It's positive song, could fit musical with cool song line-up.
