I remember when Flowers In The Dirt came out, there was a lot of press about Paul McCartney returning to some prior form. I like Flowers In The Dirt. I might hear a little bit of "the old Paul" on the album, but I don't know how different it was from say, Pipes Of Peace or Press To Play.

It’s been said about his Flaming Pie and subsequent albums too.
Funny that the pic shows him with then-collaborator Elvis Costello, who’s been said to have his fair share too. When I Was Cruel was certainly discussed that way.

I subscribed to Classic Rock magazine for about 15 years, and it seemed like every Paul McCartney release in that time period - Driving Rain, Chaos and Creation, Memory Almost Full, etc were touted as "returns to form."
