I've been a little lax here, as this is old news, but Jimmy Buffett halted his 2023 Tour to go into the hospital for an undisclosed medical issue. www.foxnews.com/entertainment/jimmy-buffett-health-update-singer-shares-next-steps-being-released-hospitalJimmy seemed in good spirits, saying that he does intend to return to the stage as soon as he's able, ending a social media post with "NOT YET!" This is a reference to the Buffett classic One Particular Harbor, which is featured at just about every one of his shows. When he concludes the final verse "I can see the day when my hair's full gray And I finally disappear" he adds an emphatic "NOT YET!!" much to the delight of the audience.

Man, everyone is getting old! Two friends I saw at the record show today are dealing with prostate issues. A couple other people there were using walkers. Despite his reputation for drugging and drinking in his younger days, I think Buffett has a pretty healthy lifestyle these days. I hope he has a swift recovery.

From what I hear, he still likes to have a drink now and again, but for the most part, lives pretty healthy. I saw him last summer, at at 75 at the time, he still puts on a very good show, and his voice has held up amazingly well.

Mac McAnally, longtime member of Jimmy Buffett's band, has said that the Coral Reefers will continue to tour, and play Buffett's music.
Mac says that Jimmy asked that they carry on, before he passed away of Sept 1.
No word on who would assume lead vocal / emcee duties.

I've just listened to the newly released final JB album - Equal Strain on All Parts.
Granted, only one listen, but I was a little overwhelmed. Although, I loved his last album from Day 1.
The release date might have an effect. His last album was a late May release, just in time for summer. I rarely listen to his music in November.
I might revisit the album a couple more times, but probably won't give it much attention until the warmer weather returns.

Jimmy released two Christmas albums - Christmas Island (1996) and 'Tis The Season (2016). The only song I hear played during the Christmas season is "Mele Kalikimaka", which I like a lot. I wonder if more Jimmy Buffett Christmas songs will be featured over the next two months.

I believe Mele K (you know) appears on both of his Christmas albums.
Funny, I'm a huge fan of both Buffett and Xmas music. But, I can't get into these albums.

Christmas Island is the most recent Buffett album I own. I know, I know, it's quite old now, but it's a nice listen.

After the success of Its 5 O Clock Somewhere, he re-embraced his country side. As a result, I think his later albums are a nice mix of more country sounding material and trop rock .

I need to give them a listen. Slightly OT: a lady at work kept talking about landsharks today, so I sent her a link to JB's song "Fins". Thinking about doing that one.

Of course, Dave Grohl has to be there, lol. He's truly rock's everyman, isn't he?

Is that a complaint, or just an observation? More of an observation. But, I just kinda find it funny how much he pops up. There was a time when it seemed that way with Springsteen. I was kind of annoyed back in 1988 when the Beatles, Beach Boys, Supremes and Bob Dylan were inducted; yet all the stories that came out had huge photos of Jagger and Springsteen...I'm like "it's not their turn yet!" I never would have paired up Dave Grohl and Jimmy Buffett...but I guess ol' Dave likes everybody.
