Yeah, that surprised me. I thought they would at least have Al's solo cd - maybe even vinyl. The guy keeps promoting new versions of the album. I guarantee, if a band sells their cd's, vinyl, whatever, at a show, it will move. People are on the high of just having enjoyed a great concert, they want something to take home as a souvenir. I was talking with a couple guys from Herman's Hermits a few years ago after a show; I told them they should do a cd or album of some of the cover tunes they do in the shows - things like A World Without Love, I'm Telling You Now, Daydream Believer, Doo Wah Diddy. They thought that was a great idea and said I should mention it to Peter Noone. His response was, "everything's on You Tube now; people post their videos of the shows". So he just sells the same old cd's of Herman's Hermits greatest hits at his shows. Disappointing, but not surprising. At the Storytellers shows I attended, Al did free meet and greets after the show, so I'm sure they sold a few CDs to concert goers who wanted to get an autograph, but didn't bring anything. I fully expected some kind of meet and greet after the show, based on what others here have said. The venue blamed it on covid. Or maybe they just wanted to avoid male fans slobbering all over Wendy.

COVID? In 2024?

Al caught Covid as the 2022 tour ended. I was just going to be snarky (about the audience/venue), but actually at Al's age and in his line of work, I can see why interacting with dozens of people every night would be something to avoid.

I'm not angry, just disappointed. If I had run down to the stage during the encores, I could have at least handed them (Al, Carnie and Wendy) something to sign, or done a photo bomb. People get real aggressive and pushy in a situation like that, and it's just not my style. I had to follow Ray Davies down the street in 2006 after a show because I didn't push my way through the crowd of people surrounding himself by the backstage door. And honestly, I met Carl - once - and Brian - once, my two favorite Beach Boys, so that should be enough, although it would have been cool to meet Dennis.

If it were Al's choice, I think I'd get it. But, by what LS said, I thought it was a venue decision.
