1. "Goin' On" is slightly boring and overrated by fans.
2. Ten Years Of Harmony has some of the worst song choices and sequencing of any Beach Boys' album. Six songs from Surf's Up? Just one from Love You and Carl & The Passions - So Tough. They didn't know how to represent Dennis Wilson - no DW songs from Sunflower and the inclusion of "River Song" makes no sense on a BB album. Who was pushing for "Deidre"? The sequencing is terrible, too. They were handed a gift with "California Saga" and the opportunity to follow it with "Cool, Cool Water". But, no, they followed it with "Wontcha Come Out Tonight". "Rock And Roll Music" is on the album, as is "It' OK", but they follow "Rock And Roll Music" with "Goin On" (why?) then "It's OK! Oh, and let's follow "Roller Skating Child" with "Disney Girls".

Slightly?
It's far down my personal list that's for sure.

I know a lot of fans choose it as their favorite song on the Keepin' The Summer Alive album. But I guess that's not saying much either (although I do try to make it better ).

"Peggy Sue" is the best lead vocal of Al Jardine's career. Listen to it!

As much as I enjoy the song, I think Long Promised Road is a tad overrated, as evidenced by the recently concluded Surf's Up Survivor Poll. I enjoy it, but I wouldn't put it in my Top 3 songs from the album.
Without the ill advised dabbling in rap, and poor covers of Under the Boardwalk & Remember Walking in the Sand, Summer in Paradise is actually a very enjoyable summer day album.

The problem with an “unpopular opinions” thread here is that those few of us posting all have relatively unpopular opinions on various issues and all generally aren’t bothered by others’ unpopular opinions. Instead of rioting, I suspect we’ll draw mostly agreements or shrugs.

It is a very muddy and hissy sounding recording, as are a few other songs on Surf's Up. And, that's strange coming off the great sounding Sunflower album.

Yeah, another woulda/coulda/shoulda Beach Boys' album. Take one or two duds off the album, replace them with stronger tracks that WERE PROBABLY AVAILABLE - in this case some Brian Wilson songs - and you have a much stronger album. I agree with you, though, that parts of Summer In Paradise are enjoyable. It's not a total waste/loss.

The new songs on Still Cruisin and about 2/3 of SIP could be combined for a really good summer / pop playlist.

I think I've posted that on the PSF forum at one time. You could even throw in BB85, and some non album odds and ends like Rock and Roll to the Rescue and Problem Child.

So far, most of my Beach Boys Opinions have been depressingly pedestrian, so I can supply some feigned outrage/dismay if you like. Goin' On is by far the best song on KTSA!
