It would just be a matter of getting everybody on the same stage at the same time. Will never happen. Hi, PP, and welcome!

That was a one hour special not a full tour, not a full show.

That was a one hour special not a full tour, not a full show. I wasn't comparing the SiriusXM appearance to a full tour or a full show. But it did show that the guys could, at the very least, reunite in some way, appear to get along, and maybe even enjoy each other's company, albeit briefly. Was I hoping it would lead to something more? Yes. Did I think it would? No, not really. One thing I've learned through the years of following The Beach Boys and some other groups is that "things" can happen very quickly. Sometimes all it takes is a chance meeting, or somebody saying something nice in an interview, or someone just picking up the phone to say "Hi, how are you doing. I missed you and just wanted to talk with you again."
As I posted above, I'm not disagreeing with you, but I also will never write anything off with The Beach Boys. There probably won't be a reunion, but I still enjoying wishing and hoping - and talking - about it. That's what diehard fans do on Beach Boys' message boards.

The Sheriff said as much. I'm sure you never thought the one hour show would happen either.

We're all realists. And dreamers. Optimists, pessimists, etc. It just depends on the specific thing that happens to tickle your fancy. So let's all just be respectful and nice while we disagree, eh? Plus, it's MY job to shoot down SJS's dreams!

If I had a dime for everything in music history that "would never happen," I'd at least have enough for a Natural Light at the bar.

Back to the topic of the doc, I wonder if there is any chance it will be rushed to streaming as a kind of public service... Seriously, it (and other things) scheduled for festivals and public screenings, those group viewings aren't going to be happening anytime soon. I know awards have some rule about things having to have been shown at festivals or in public theaters, but waivers would seem in order this year.
Hollywood in general might want to rethink its approach to whatever it had on deck to release over the next 3-9 months, I'd think.
If Long Promised Road were put up on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc., I'd be pretty damn happy. Hell, even make it for rent so they can recoup some costs. Fine. The sooner the better. The sooner it's up, the sooner we have something substantive to bitch and moan about!

I'm a little more excited for this after the IGTV episode. Although, calling that an "episode" is a little generous. I was expecting a duration of 15-20 minutes. (Not that I should have been expecting anything, having not even heard of IGTV beforehand.)

Elton John has apparently seen Long Promised Road and will be talking about it on something called Beats1 available on Apple Music.

Hmm, great news, and seems in line with something some wise, thoughtful, and extremely handsome fellow once speculated about!

Just saw that streaming movies will be eligible for the Oscars this year, so there you have it.
