That really sucks. Makes me even more disappointed that I didn't get to see them last year.

Damn shame, also about Sheila B. At least she was 92. I liked Charlie.

Well, that's terrible news. I was driving in my car when the news came on the radio, and now Stones' songs are starting to pop up on the various stations. We discussed Charlie missing the next tour recently in our Music News thread, but I didn't know the extent of Charlie's medical problem(s). Mick had a scare a year or two ago with a heart valve problem, but he appears to have fully recovered. With the Rolling Stones' history, it is...surprising...that, with the exception of Brian Jones' tragic death 52 years ago, that Charlie is the first Rolling Stone to pass away of, I guess, fairly natural causes. I suppose they'll continue; they were replacing Charlie for their upcoming tour before this tragic news, so who knows. Maybe they'll call it a day after that.
R.I.P. Charlie Watts, and thank you for the music.

Whenever I think of Charlie the powerhouse drummer, this is the song that immediately springs to mind:

As I look at the above post - for the passing of Charlie Watts - sadly, I have to report that another great drummer has died. Ronnie Tutt, drummer for Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Jerry Garcia, and others passed away at the age of 83. R.I.P. Ronnie...
This is rock & roll!

R.I.P. David Blatt aka Jay Black (November 2, 1938 - October 22, 2021), the lead singer of Jay & The Americans. Jay Black was actually the second "Jay" of Jay & The Americans, replacing Jay Traynor in 1962. Jay Black sang lead vocals on the hits, "Come A Little Bit Closer", "This Magic Moment", and "Cara Mia".
Check out this latter-day performance from Jay Black on PBS. Incredible voice!

I'm stretching the parameters of this thread, it being a thread for musicians' passings, but I wanted to note the passing of legendary and groundbreaking comedian, Mort Sahl, who died yesterday at the age of 94.

Comedy legend (and pioneering conspiracy theorist...thus ahead of his time).

Terence "Astro" Wilson, former vocalist and founding member of UB40, dies at 64 after a short illness. I was never a major fan of UB40 although I liked what I heard of Present Arms and thought "If It Happens Again" was pretty cool: Rest in peace, sir.

Just yesterday, one of the Classic Rock pages I follow said Graeme had cancer and the end was near.
